US GC while living in Canada as a PR?

Yeah, this doesn't really work in my position or line of work, which is why I was considering the re-entry permit. I guess the other big question is how quickly USCIS will actually be able to process GCs even if visa numbers are available... that could go either way. The I485 processing times...

US GC while living in Canada as a PR?

Yes, the commuter GC is another option I had come across. In my case, my US employer doesn't have a place of business near the border, so I'm not sure how I can justify that, but perhaps the CBP or USCIS wouldn't care if I just rented a small office near the border and visited it every now and...

US GC while living in Canada as a PR?

I meant I have only used 1.5 years of my PR so far. So I have 3.5 years left to fulfill the 2 year residency obligation. And my reading of the IRCC website is it is taking 1 year to process citizenship but you can leave after applying as long as you are in Canada for the oath and the test.

US GC while living in Canada as a PR?

Hello, Does anyone here have any experience on maintaining a US GC while living in Canada to fulfill the Canadian PR and citizenship residency requirements? My situation is that I am currently in the US with a US EB2/3 GC priority date of Sept 2012, which it looks increasingly likely will be...

Working remotely from Canada in US company as Canadian PR

Thanks - I will have to visit my employer in the US multiple times a year, though usually it's not once a month. Would that be a problem if it's not once a month? There seem to be examples on this forum (agrisiva) who 'commuted' once or twice a year. The one slight difference in my case in terms...

Working remotely from Canada in US company as Canadian PR

Thanks, yes, that's my sense as well - that the I485 application will be considered abandoned, but my company lawyer says that if I can simultaneously maintain H1B status till the time the GC is current by being on US payroll while being in Canada (and not using EAD/AP), then I would...

Working remotely from Canada in US company as Canadian PR

Has anyone with Canadian PR worked remotely for a US company after filing the I-485 AoS in the US for an employment based green card? I have a H1B and intend to keep it alive if I file the 485, but am not sure that if I work from Canada on the H1B while the I-485 GC application is pending, if...

September 2018 AOR - join here

Is there anyone from the Ottawa processing center that is waiting for PPR after approval or is this just a Sydney phenomenon?

September 2018 AOR - join here

I emailed Ottawa since my app has been approved since Dec asking for a PPR since I have some extensive travel coming up later. They forwarded it to Sydney - so I guess that's where my app is - and they just asked to me sit tight till I get a PPR email in the coming weeks.

(FSW-O applicant - US based, but Indian citizen) AOR of Sep 6, the IRCC call center says file was approved on Dec 4 but hasn't been transferred to Buffalo visa office yet. No PPR yet. IRCC agent said outermost limit is May (!), but it shouldn't take that long.

Validity of PCC from home country if you travel there?

I ended up staying in the US and not risking travel to India before my AOR. Couldn't find a clear definitive answer unfortunately.

Worked for same employer in multiple locations

I have the same issue - same employer with two different cities in the US. Not sure if I should split or not... I guess it shouldn't make a difference anyway.
