Yes I’d also recommend a soft landing. You’ll get a SIN and can apply for the PR card right away. Sooner is always better. The only con I can think of is a pricey round trip ticket from China...

What does your ghost update look like? I didn't receive any email but the "current status" changed from "submitted" to "Application/profile updated".
