Congratulations to you guys Oscarita!! I just booked my husband’s flight too. So exciting. The process is stressful at times but ours took 11 months so within the target timeframe. Stay positive everyone and soon you will be united.

My husband got his police check renewal in one week in Havana. In his hometown it was 6-8 weeks to wait. You need to have the contract, the receipt and the police check. Minrex stamp is indeed necessary..

Oh that really sucks! Hopefully they will call him back next Friday or sooner now that they have the contract and receipt. At least it’s an administrative issue that just needed to be rectified prior to visa issuance..

They also asked my husband to bring passport and two visa photos for “possible” visa issuance even though we had submitted photos initially. And he got his visa Friday... so sounds promising for you!! Fingers crossed..

Yay!! Good news!! When they ask for two photos and passport it’s a good indication he will receive his visa!!

We tried to be proactive and got a police check in Varadero but it took too long. They then asked us for an updated police check so my husband went to Havana and it took 5 days to receive it then he dropped it off at the embassy. A week later the embassy sent an email to come for visa...

You should probably apply for a new police check before they request it because they will request one before they make their decision. A week after my husband re-did his police check they called him for his visa. In Havana you can get a police check done in a week if you need to.

My husband received his visa today. We are so thankful. Has been 11 months for us from start to finish. Hope May is a good month for you guys too. Be patient, don’t stress.. it will happen! Good luck everyone!

Got an email today for a visa issuance date for next week for my husband. The day after my birthday. I couldn’t think of a better birthday present. Good luck to everyone I think May will be a good month for all of us on the same time line...

Yeah ... especially when medical was Jan 5th and then mid-February find out machine wasn’t working and need to redo. So the medical clock timeline restarted... but hey what can you do. Patiently waiting and hoping for visa this month.. would be best bday gift ever. I think things will happen...

My husband had his medical Jan 5th then in Feb got a call saying that everyone who went Jan 5th had to go back because there was an issue with the chest X-ray machine on Jan 5th. So he had to go back for a redo for the chest X-ray on Feb 16th... and we have not heard anything about the results...

I hear ya...I'm not sure there is a consistent process or order of things... sometimes it's best not to compare I find..otherwise it's disheartening. Perhaps with the new "target" of 12 months things are a little backlogged..
