I came to Canada illegally as a child. Looking for any possible option to become a legal resident.

My brother is 11 and relying on my parents to do anything is not going to happen. They got me in this mess, wasted years of my time, wasted many opportunities, etc.

I came to Canada illegally as a child. Looking for any possible option to become a legal resident.

Thinking about it now, it wouldn't be the end of the world if I moved to the UK but with brexit going on I have no idea if its a possible choice. What I'm more afraid of though is how my parents would react if they found out I tried to apply myself and got all of us kicked out. My life would...

I came to Canada illegally as a child. Looking for any possible option to become a legal resident.

Thanks for the support but nobody here has come off as judgemental to me. Every message so far has been useful in some way and I appreciate all the help I'm getting here. It's definitely tough though, I have no one else to talk to about this besides my parents and they're the ones who put me in...

I came to Canada illegally as a child. Looking for any possible option to become a legal resident.

Well I'll consult a lawyer and see what they think is the best option for me. If H&C is my only choice then I'll drop out of uni. Thank you for the advice I appreciate it.

I came to Canada illegally as a child. Looking for any possible option to become a legal resident.

I agree, this was obviously a terrible choice in hindsight. Do you think that dropping out of uni could uncomplicate it, or has the damage already been done.

I came to Canada illegally as a child. Looking for any possible option to become a legal resident.

No this is pretty much it. Of course, there could be more going on behind the scenes with my parents that i'm not aware of but honestly I could care less about what they do. I just want to become a legal resident, if they want to make stupid choices then that's on them.

I came to Canada illegally as a child. Looking for any possible option to become a legal resident.

I go to a free clinic and we're covered by my father's insurance. But you're right, any medical expenses, such as going to a hospital, are rather expensive. I once dislocated my knee and the ambulance trip, morphine and the couple of hours that I was on the bed before they popped my knee back...

I came to Canada illegally as a child. Looking for any possible option to become a legal resident.

Thank you for your replies, and by plan B do you mean in case there is no way for me to become a legal immigrant? Because I honestly have absolutely no idea what I would do at that point.

Yeah my situation sucks right now. Do you happen to know any good immigration lawyers in Toronto by chance?

I came to Canada illegally as a child. Looking for any possible option to become a legal resident.

The lawyer was originally my father's lawyer in his DUI case but he agreed to help us with our immigration status. He basically wasted our time for around a year or two, as all he did was make me fill out a permanent resident card application. It took months for the application to return and...

I came to Canada illegally as a child. Looking for any possible option to become a legal resident.

I know what I'm doing is fraud, but it wasn't necessarily my choice to make (both my mother and our former lawyer told me to apply as a permanent resident even though I didn't agree). Of course, I understand I also hold responsibility in this as I was the one who ultimately made the application...

I came to Canada illegally as a child. Looking for any possible option to become a legal resident.

No, my uni hasn't asked for any proof of permanent residency which I also found weird. Thank you very much for the advice and article, I'll definitely take it into consideration.

I came to Canada illegally as a child. Looking for any possible option to become a legal resident.

We immigrated here around 2000 and 2012-ish so it wasn't that long ago lmao. But sure I'll make an appointment with an immigration lawyer and talk about applying for permanent residency.

I came to Canada illegally as a child. Looking for any possible option to become a legal resident.

I've only entered the country twice and I'm not quite sure how we entered exactly. All I remember is that the second time I came in my mother told me to lie to I'm assuming some sort of immigration officer, saying that I was on school break and visiting or something like that. So I'm assuming we...

I came to Canada illegally as a child. Looking for any possible option to become a legal resident.

My parents are not rich, my father works as a construction worker (stereotypical I know) and my mother just stays at home. We rent a house. I'd say we do reasonably well, we're probably around middle class. No I do not possess a health card which is another issue, as I can't pursue the sports...

I came to Canada illegally as a child. Looking for any possible option to become a legal resident.

Let me start by providing any relevant information that might impact my options. I am a 20 year old white male currently living in Toronto. I originally came here from Portugal when I was 2 years old, left Canada to go back to Portugal when I was around 10, moved to Germany and then moved back...
