Lost COPR- CIC asking for police report for oath ceremony

We had our Oath Ceremony a couple days ago and we did not have to show our COPR at all. I even asked specifically since I had it with me and the registration officer replied that he does not need to see (or stamp) it but that we should keep it in a safe place since it will be needed for later...

    Citizenship expenses tax deductible?

I am working on our income tax returns for 2018, the year we applied for Canadian citizenship. Now I am wondering if the application fees or any other expenses in regards to becoming a Canadian citizen would be tax deductible for personal income tax. I searched online but no luck so far. Any tax...

    ECAS not updated

Yes, that's what I am thinking. I am not worried at all. Just a heads up that ECAS is not necessarily up to date.

    ECAS not updated

We had our test and interview beginning of December, everything went well, officer had no concerns at all. Our ECAS status is still not updated, last entry says .. 3. We started processing your application on June 15th, 2018. Although on the first page after logging in, it says under...

It is now 10 days after we received E-Mail with test invitation but still no update showing on ECAS. Test is next week, Dec. 5th. Is that something unusual?

    Citizenship Test out of province

No, the next CIC office in Manitoba is closer to where I live than the next office in my own province. I am not a Manitoba resident though.

    Citizenship Test out of province

Hi, I got invited to write the Citizenship Test in Manitoba but I live in Ontario. I wonder if I should rather study the Manitoba questions in regards to provincial government, party in power, opposition parties, provincial representative instead of Ontario where I live. Maybe I better play it...

Country of issue- Spain European Union

"Spain" should be sufficient since Spain is the country of issue. But you could put European Union in brackets behind it if you wish. Either way should be fine.

    March - 2018 Citizenship Applicants

To be on the safe side I would still apply for the VOS, he'll need it anyway later for pension claims. Then print the application form, the payment receipt and your copy of the record of landing and he's done everything he can do in this matter.

    March - 2018 Citizenship Applicants

I would still apply for the VOS document, for mine it only took a month to get it. If the Oath happens before you get the VOS I would take the application form plus the payment receipt for proof that you requested this document.

    March - 2018 Citizenship Applicants

I applied for Verification of Status for the same reason and it took only 1 month to get. I was quite surprised. I would give it a try and if you don't get it in time then you can explain the situation and show the receipt that you applied for it.

    COPR needed for oath?

When I received the VOS the e-mail stated: "As of November 2013, the Operations Support Centre has been issuing an electronic, uncertified Verification of Status (VOS) document that confirms pertinent historical information retrieved from the original documents, such as date of entry and status...

    COPR needed for oath?

    COPR needed for oath?

Yes, we will do the same. But it would really be interesting to know what happened to other applicants who did not have CoPR at Oath Ceremony. Can they deny you at this point? I personally don't think so. If this is such an important document an applicant needs to have they would include it in...

    COPR needed for oath?

Thank you for all for your input. Looks like CIC will ask for the CoPR randomly at the Oath Ceremony so it may or may not be needed. Since others mentioned that this document will be needed later for pension claims we decided to apply for a copy which could take up to 8 months to get ... wow.
