2018 Quebec Inland Spouse/Common law sponsorship applicants only - timelines

Hi guys, we got our PR card today, less than 2 weeks after landing. After waiting 13 months for DM, at least the very last step was quick and efficient :) Thank you all for your constant support, it was really helpful to share the long waiting with so many kind people and we are really grateful...

2018 Quebec Inland Spouse/Common law sponsorship applicants only - timelines

Hi everyone, we got the e-mail from the montreal office yesterday and landed today :) Now waiting for the PR card :) We were told 6-8 weeks to receive the card, but on CIC website they actually say 13 days right now. Does anyone know which one is right and what to expect? Thanks and good luck...

2018 Quebec Inland Spouse/Common law sponsorship applicants only - timelines

The same happened to us (and a few other people). We are from early May 2018. We got SA/DM and AIP in January and then only got DM on PA side this week. They were telling us the same thing on the phone, even after we exceeded 12 months.

    ***MAY 2018*** INLAND SPOUSAL SPONSORSHIP

Not really, they kept telling us the same thing since end of January and the only extra info that some agents would give us was that nothing looked worrisome (even after we exceeded 12 months). We finally seem to have DM on PA side on ECAS, but still waiting for a letter. We really hope you...

    ***MAY 2018*** INLAND SPOUSAL SPONSORSHIP

We only have AIP, SA and sponsor's DM (since January). PA side still in process, but when we call them, they say everything is finished and that our file is just waiting for final review (?), which supposedly is the very last step before DM. The problem is that they are saying the same thing...

Member of parliament. Apparently they can help to find out the status of overdue applications with more details and faster than we can usually achieve on our own. But I'm not sure if they have any additional influence in the outcome.

    ***MAY 2018*** INLAND SPOUSAL SPONSORSHIP

No, we did not. Does it usually accelerate anything or it's just for obtaining more information? Can an MP get the same type of information as in the notes?

    ***MAY 2018*** INLAND SPOUSAL SPONSORSHIP

Unfortunately not. We called CIC a few days after reaching 12 months and they said the same thing as in January (only final DM missing, everything else done). Our file has not been transferred anywhere either.

    ***MAY 2018*** INLAND SPOUSAL SPONSORSHIP

We already reached 12 months. I hope it doesn't take too long, since in January the agent also said our file was completed, just DM missing. We don't know why it's taking so long in this very last step.

2018 Quebec Inland Spouse/Common law sponsorship applicants only - timelines

Do you know if there are many April (or earlier) applicants still waiting? We are May and already 12 months, so we would like to have an idea if we should expect too much of a delay.

    ***MAY 2018*** INLAND SPOUSAL SPONSORSHIP

We called and they said that only the final decision is missing and that there is no way of knowing how long it is going to take. Our file has not been transferred and we have AIP and DM for almost 4 months already.

2018 Quebec Inland Spouse/Common law sponsorship applicants only - timelines

Hi! Our timeline and situation is almost the same as yours. We are May 7th and we don't get any news since SA/DM around Jan 24th too. In Jan an agent told us over the phone that background check was done and that everything was done. No idea why it's taking so long! I think there are a couple...

2018 Spousal Sponsorship in-land Applications: timeline and updates

Sorry to ask, but which reason CIC is giving for the background check to take so long? We are early May applicants and got SA, AIP and sponsor-DM in late January. We didn't get any news after that and we are about to complete 12 months. I'm aware that many other May applicants are in a similar...

    ***MAY 2018*** INLAND SPOUSAL SPONSORSHIP

No, same situation as you :-( Nothing new since AIP, SA and DM on sponsor side in January.

    ***MAY 2018*** INLAND SPOUSAL SPONSORSHIP

Is it the issue really with the Montreal office? It seems odd that many people in the same situation happen to be from Montreal, but I actually don't know where our application currently is at this stage (I would assume it would only be transferred to Montreal after DM on both sides, no?). Any...

    ***MAY 2018*** INLAND SPOUSAL SPONSORSHIP

Some people get it in a couple of days. On the other hand, we got AIP, SA and DM on sponsor side around Jan 24th. No news since then, PA still in process. We are May applicants from Montreal.

    ***MAY 2018*** INLAND SPOUSAL SPONSORSHIP

Do you guys think that our applications are already with the Montreal office? I heard that some people get the landing interview letter without getting DM, but not sure if that's going to be our case or if we are still going to go through DM and so on. Also, does anyone know how long does it...

    ***MAY 2018*** INLAND SPOUSAL SPONSORSHIP

I think we have a very similar timeline (May 7th) and we are also from Montreal area. We got SA, AIP and DM for the sponsor in January. However, our application is still in progress for the PA and it's been a complete silence since January. We called CIC and one officer also told us that...

2018 Spousal Sponsorship in-land Applications: timeline and updates

Hi, May 7th applicant here. We got AIP on Jan 24th, SA on Jan 25th and DM on sponsor's side on Jan 28th. However, ECAS still shows "in process" for PA and myCIC says background check is in progress. It has been a complete silence since January. Anyone in a similar situation? We tried calling...
