Yeah, it's possible. Most people choose to cross the border to get the process complete faster, as we have to wait around 3 weeks to hear back from CIC when requesting to schedule an appointment and another month for the appointment itself.

Unfortunately, this option doesn't work for those who don't drive, like me. Rainbow Bridge is incredibly busy in the walkway. The experience I shared is for those planning to flagpole by foot. Can't speak about crossing the border by car.

Thanks! I think I'm extremely anxious :( can't wait to get my passport back and plan the landing! Also, I thought they normally change the status to Approved before printing the visa... but based on your reply, it looks like it's the opposite? They print the visa and COPR and change the status...

I would call them to confirm they started processing your passport, just for your peace of mind.

They say it takes 2 weeks after passports received to process the letters/visas and send them back to you. Based on your timeline, I'd expect something for the week July 29 to August 02 :)
