Yes, just submitted passport to vfs with a cover letter

Add a cover letter explaining your situation and also mention in that that you have raised webform with IRCC for this. Take this and expired letter to VFS

Thankyou so much for shaing these details, its really helpful!! Just one more question, in the cover letter I plan to mention that I didn't receive email and I also checked my account late and I will apologize and ask them for extension. Would that be a good enough reason from your experience?

Check latest updates on VFS website, but last time I checked, you can send it via courier only

MP doesn't get your gcms notes, but an update on the status of the file, which is as good as the info in gcms. Gcms comes after a month and are detailed, MP responds within a week max but obviously not as detailed, though you get the overall status update

Best option is to ask your MP to get an update for you

My wife's was expiring in Feb 2021. Now they have extended it to Jan 2022. Im pretty sure they are doing meds extension for your husband too

Yes They extended our medical by a year, so maybe they will extend your husbands medical further and thats whats taking time
