have you linked your application with MyCIC account. You can do it even without AOR or application nummber, then you can find updates in it. try it, you might find they sent message to your account rather than other ways

I dont think so. I sent out the RCMP as well, but it still shows We need additional documents.. I am thinking to ask them soon what's going wrong

when they request it, the will send it in your CIC account. and you will have an email saying there is an update in your account as well. Hope you will get it soon!
