    Parents and Grandparents Sponsorship 2019

Does she not have her sponsorship approved yet? I also see you have had trouble linking your application to her parents' account. I had endless trouble until I followed the instructions in this link...

    Parents and Grandparents Sponsorship 2019

IRCC basically talked to all of us. She did not ask my mother any specific questions. We all kinda talked over one another lol. One time in the past we were on the phone with IRCC and I needed to guide my mother into answering the questions correctly. She speaks good English but gets a bit...

    Parents and Grandparents Sponsorship 2019

Update! Just ONE WEEK after we got the PPR (we mailed her pasport off last week), we got a call from IRCC today. My mother is currently in Canada. Since DH and I (the sponsors) and my mother were all available, we were able to talk to the agent on speakerphone and she processed the virtual...

    Parents and Grandparents Sponsorship 2019

Nope. We actually applied for her PCC a couple of months ago to have it in hand whenever they requested it - but instead of requesting it, we got a notice saying her PR was approved! Guess we wasted some time, effort and money as we had some tech issues requesting the PCC from Canada.

Sponsoring parents. Use RRSP to replace annual min income.

Another update - as I reported, my sponsorship was approved with RRSPs forming the chunk of our income and today, we were informed my mother's PR application has been approved as well :) Liquidating some RRSPs was not an issue for us financially. Would definitely caution against this strategy...

    Parents and Grandparents Sponsorship 2019

Same boat here. Hoping all can be done from within Canada. My mother got her biometrics request but after I paid the fee, they sent her a Biometrics Information Form with no IRCC number so Service Canada here could do nothing. I submitted a webform and am waiting.

So sorry! In all my reading here, did NOT realize I could check ECAS and that was different from the regular IRCC login. I finally found the link to login to see ECAS and got the in process date. @YULIA-2016 and @robertp to add / update your info in tracker Line # in tracker: if applicable...

No, we have not heard anything from Singapore other than a biometrics request. I assume IEM has something to do with medical? (I looked up acronyms and abbreviations lists on these forums and could find nothing conclusive). If so, no medical request yet.

    SUCCESS LINKING APPLICATION

THANK YOU!! This finally worked. I put all the recommended spaces and also followed all info I submitted in IMM008. Also, mine is a parent/grandparent application and I finally realized how to count family members: - applicant and any family (mine was just my widowed mother) - plus sponsor -...

Sponsoring parents. Use RRSP to replace annual min income.

Update with good news: I was short for my 3rd year (my DH was off work for cancer and I also took a one year Leave of Absence to care for him) so I ended up liquidating a chunk of my RRSPs to make up the difference for Line 150. I did not provide them our SIN numbers so they did not have access...

Sponsoring parents. Use RRSP to replace annual min income.

I did have other income so wasn't attempting to show an entire year's income with RRSPs :) My DH was receiving nontaxable disability payments and that affected our NOA susbstantially as that income could not be reported on line 150. We'll see what happens. Hopefully all works out for my...

    Parents and Grandparents Sponsorship 2019

Ummm..if I was legitimately married, I would certainly hope they would prioritize processing of spousal applications. I mean in this case we are talking keeping spouses separated in the name of paperwork vs living apart from your parents. Yes I want my mother to have status here with me as...

Sponsoring parents. Use RRSP to replace annual min income.

I did. I ended up choosing to say no to probiding my SIN numbers and printed off my NOAs instead. The Notice of Assessments don’t separate out the different income. Just the total from Line 150. I am financially stable and have no issues liquidating some of my RRSPs other than losing a small...

Thanks - seems to be much more straightforward than the SuperVisa application where we added all kinds of explanations.

Explain temp lower income for parent sponsorship?

My husband and I plan to sponsor my mother next year. In preparation, I was going through the forms. Between the 2 of us, we definitely meet the Minimum Necessary Income every year. But in 2017 and 2018, my husband's income dropped from 90k to 20-40k primarily because he has been off on...

I am in the same boat and curious if anyone else has successfully used RRSP to augment total income.

Border run to extend visitor visa?

Hi, trying to figure out if a border run is a better idea than a formal visa extension application. My mother arrived in Canada on Nov 2017 and originally planned to leave 6 months late in May 2018. We took a daytrip to the US in December 2017 and she got a new stamp in her passport with no...
