Congratulations Spiceland. I have been following your case eagerly. I’m so so happy for you.

OMG!! I am in shock. Considering that, for citizenship, one only has to prove the number of days spent in Canada within a specific period, plus no criminality, that’s a lot of extra information that they’re asking for. Thank you for your response. Makes me even more grateful that I’m...

    What exactly is a PPQ-QA?

Your child cannot sit with you as the seats are numbered and are only for the oath recipients of that ceremony. If your child is willing to sit alone, I’m sure that shouldn’t be an issue. However, I’d say, knowing children that young, you’re best off arranging that she sit with someone

I too am now a Canadian, but continue to follow this forum, (a) because it’s become a habit, and (b) waiting for Spiceland’s oath. Best of luck to all. It will happen

To be safe, I’d still check to see if one can re-enter Canada with that.

Hi From what I know, you cannot cross the border, even to & from the US without a passport. All that changed after 9/11. I wouldn’t chance it. You can apply for an urgent passport which you get the same day, as long as you pay $110 extra. Or a passport between 2-9 days, where you’ll pay $60...

I’m still glued to this forum, rooting for all the familiar names from when I was in the same boat. Really praying that the wait times get shorter and good news comes your way very soon.

They checked & then took our PR Cards. We had to show them copies of our invitation letter and record of landing. And they kept the signed Media release form.

Smart casual. I didn’t see anyone in a T Shirt. It is a formal ceremony. Most of the men were in buttoned down shirts and pants...many with a jacket.

Hi I too was at the same ceremony today with my family. What a wonderful feeling. The judge mentioned that, since November, 5000 people have become citizens at this office. Wishing all the forum members all the best. We applied in September. My first emotion was a sense of relief that this...

No no. It was someone else who actually requested, against the advice of other members in the forum, for his/her file to be sent to Mississauga.

A month or so ago, a member of this forum who resides in Mississauga asked for his/her file to be transferred to Mississauga so as to get an earlier oath date. I’m wondering what happened.

The fact that you want to travel is not considered urgent by CIC’s standards. You are considered within the timeline that they have given if you haven’t crossed the 12 month mark. As far as CIC is concerned, you can travel with your valid PR, which is what I did during the March break. As the...

I can absolutely relate to the frustration you’re feeling. We applied a month before you and had our DM on January 25th. After that it seemed to be an endless waiting game, watching people getting their oaths. The positive was that we had the DM status and, seeing this forum, knew we weren’t...
