If you are passed the 121 day mark, contact your MP (if they aren't too busy with the upcoming election). They are very helpful and advocate for us during our process (:

    *JUNE 2019* INLAND Spousal Sponsorship

They both go hand in hand. I did the Restoration of Status which requires a medical request but they didn't ask for it because they know I'm gonna get one for the PR application. The medical request will work for both the extension and for the PR. When you get it done, just send a webform with a...

    *JUNE 2019* INLAND Spousal Sponsorship

Did you have any status whatsoever when you applied? Going for PR via Spousal Sponsorship does not grant you implied status. The only way to get implied status (if your status was a visitor) is to apply for a work visa with the application while still maintaining a status once it reaches the...

    *JUNE 2019* INLAND Spousal Sponsorship

No it is 255. You have to have the OWP fee And the Holders fee. You need to get that sent out ASAP or call IRCC in the morning and explain your situation. You may be able to pay it and send a webform of your receipt. It won't cause your PR application to be returned but it can cause your OWP to...

    U.S. citizen marrying Canadian

So long as you can return then it really shouldn't be a problem. If this is the way you're gonna go about it then I would honestly suggest Outland unless you want to find work in Canada. Outland, you could still come and stay so long as you leave within your 6 months. And Outland sponsorship is...

Question about border crossing before applying for inland

The thing about crossing the border is don't volunteer too much information. Just answer their questions and you should be okay. They will ask you where you are headed to, how long you plan to stay, if you have work in the states or if you're a student, etc. If you are an american citizen, you...

    U.S. citizen marrying Canadian

A visitor visa is legal status. If you stay past the 6th month mark, you no longer have it. If you apply for the OWP, you will gain implied status while it is processing. That is exactly what I did

    U.S. citizen marrying Canadian

If you come in on a visitor visa, you have legal status. Once you apply for an OWP, you will obtain "implied status" until they reach a decision on your OWP application. If you're coming from the US, they normally give you an automatic 6-month visa (if you're driving they will not stamp your...

Proof of contact for inland cohabiting spouses (is it really neccesary)

The checklist will give you options to prove your relationship is genuine and you only have to submit 2 of their options. Me and my hubby did a utility bill in our name and a copy of my husbands insurance with me listed as his spouse.

    Paypal

If you're married, the immigration officers would actually want to see you both supporting each other that way. Keep records of your transactions through PayPal. My husband and I actually used it to our advantage in our spousal sponsorship form because we sent each other money all the time (I...

Proof of principal applicant's relationship to sponsor - spelling error in birth certificate

Errors on Birth Certificates are not common but they do happen. My lawyer suggested attaching a letter explaining anything that CBSA may be confused about. So I would recommend the same thing. If you have time to before submitting, I would try to have the birth certificate fixed.
