Canadian Passport - Mail-In Application Timelines

By mail if you don't have time to go to the passport office... I didn't do passport office because it kind of requires to arrive early enough and to spend a few hours there (Vancouver, BC). Some reasons to do 5 years: - you don't think you'll need it after (reasons not to leave Canada, or...

    Update mail address after AOR?

Normally, if you applied in Canada, it's processed in Canada, and at some point they'll ask you to send your passport (or a copy if you're from a visa exempt country), which they'll send back to you with the CoPR to your address in Canada. So if you move and don't update your address, it'll...

    Legally seperated and Common law

Wait until you're married to your new partner... If you can't wait, make sure to disclose everything (explain in the letter of explanation), and I believe you shouldn't try to get points from your common law partner relationship, because technically you're still simply married. There's no box...

Is it very normal or rare to exceed 6 months of time consumption on EE application?

The "6 months" timeline means that "they process most cases in 6 months or less". That also means lots of cases, but not most, are processed in more than 6 months. And now with Covid 19, everything that's not finished will take more time than initially expected.

Post ITA- Is it okay if I mentioned bachelors degree in Education section and chose 'No ECA done'

You don't need ECA for diplomas or degrees that don't give you any points. You should however mention that you have those and upload simple copies, since you do NOT want to hide such information.

what if: baby born in Canada after very shortly receiving CoPR documents (but before landing)?

Just tell the officer at the border (he or she'll just say "OK" or something like that). But tell IRCC too! They'll ask for the birth certificate.

what if: baby born in Canada after very shortly receiving CoPR documents (but before landing)?

The primary applicant has to land first. You can't have the secondary applicant land before the primary one. ;) Now it's up to you to know if you can wait a few weeks to have an appointment at an IRCC office nearby or if you can just go to the border. We delayed the landing by 2 whole months...

what if: baby born in Canada after very shortly receiving CoPR documents (but before landing)?

Great, I'm glad I helped. :) If the border is not far and you have someone to watch over the baby, it's quickest to do at the border. Just make sure you have the rights to enter the USA! (Or it will be so much trouble...) What you could do, potentially, if you don't have a babysitter: - go to...

what if: baby born in Canada after very shortly receiving CoPR documents (but before landing)?

1st. It will be a major issue for your baby to cross a border without a passport: so just don't take the baby with you! Avoid all the potential huge trouble there! 2nd. Normally you should have told IRCC (by email or phone) that you had a baby as soon as the baby was born. (That's written...

what if: baby born in Canada after very shortly receiving CoPR documents (but before landing)?

I had baby’s birth certificate but they didn’t need it at all. They just wanna make sure you don’t have a non-declared non-Canadian baby. So if you have a Canadian baby, just tell them at the landing and that’s all.

what if: baby born in Canada after very shortly receiving CoPR documents (but before landing)?

In case baby is born in Canada, baby is Canadian and not considered a dependent on the CoPR. If baby is not Canadian, then you should contact IRCC before landing!
