    I need some answers

Yes, it is normal. All you need to travel is a Visa stamp in your passport. Once you submit your passport and have received your visa in your passport, you can go ahead and book your flight and proceed to travel. Good luck!

VFS Passport Submission In Lagos, Nigeria

Thanks for your swift response. No updates from IRCC about status change yet. Perhaps it’ll come in later in the day as I’ve only received the email from VFS a couple hours ago. Just out of curiosity, why wait 3 days before I pick it up once it’s in Lagos. Also, if I’m picking up in person, what...

VFS Passport Submission In Lagos, Nigeria

Hi @trymebeyonce2020. I submitted my passport to VFS Lagos for stamping and I just received a ready for collection email from them today. However, the email indicates it’s ready for collection in Abuja but I had submitted the passport in Lagos. I noticed from the thread, that you were in similar...

    March - 2018 Citizenship Applicants

I ordered my GCMS notes and also contacted my local MP to see if they could get a much detailed update. A recent activity on your file (FP request l) sounds like a good thing to me. I’m hopeful that the next step for you will be the invite.

    March - 2018 Citizenship Applicants

My application will be 12 months in two days since it’s delivery, without a test invite. Security & criminality checks have been completed but immigration checks have not been initiated; according to my GCMS notes. I hope the invite comes in soon. My application is in Mississauga btw. App sent...

Mississauga applicants to THE HONOURABLE AHMED HUSSEN

Bumping up this thread to see if Mississauga applicants might want to go ahead and seek help from the minister of Immigration as applicants whose files are being treated in the Mississauga office are having to wait for a longer than usual time without any update or correspondence from the...

Mississauga applicants to THE HONOURABLE AHMED HUSSEN

I fully support this motion. I’m less than 3 weeks away from reaching 12 months and I still haven’t received a test Invite. Mississauga office seems the slowest of them all.

I got this answer after sending a web form, is it the AOR?

It’s quite unfortunate how much time you’ve had wasted already by IRCC. I’d suggest that you send in a new application with the same payment receipt & include a letter in your application indicating that “you’ve decided to send in a new application as it’s been 5 months & you’ve not received...

Question 9c answered wrong on citizenship application!

Hi Aryan2015, I’m sorry to hear about your situation. Question 9c on the citizenship application form is an error on IRCC’s part as it’s been poorly worded which continues to throw many people into a state of dilemma, forcing them into wrongly answering the question (in your particular case...

Confused again with physical presence days

I didn’t, because it wasn’t listed on the document checklist. You’re welcome!

Confused again with physical presence days

Yes, I was actually in the same situation while filling out my application a few months ago. I called IRCC and asked if they could tell me what date I became a protected person. The agent searched on her computer and told me a specific date which happened to be my hearing date. I didn’t even...

Confused again with physical presence days

This is what I thought until an IRCC agent told me otherwise and now I have an application in progress.

Confused again with physical presence days

From personal experience, you should put March 13 as the first day of being a protected person since you fortunately received a verbal positive decision on your hearing day. If on your hearing day, the board member had congratulated you and declared you a convention refugee or protected person...

Do i include time as a Refugee Claimant in the Physical Presence Calculator

Not actually accurate! Time spent as a REFUGEE CLAIMANT does NOT count at all towards your physical presence, however, you can count time spent in Canada as a CONVENTION REFUGEE OR PROTECTED PERSON (a status you acquire after having a positive decision on your refugee claim).

Do i include time as a Refugee Claimant in the Physical Presence Calculator

Like I said in my previous response, time spent in Canada as a Refugee Claimant doesn’t count towards your physical presence, so you wouldn’t be able to include it in the physical presence calculator (that’s what i did and I received AOR). However, you do need to include it on the actual...
