I think Canada is a better option. LGBTQ+ people have more rights and protections here than the US. I would recommend seeking an asylum in Canada despite the popular opinion on here. There are a lot of resources and support once you're here.

It doesn't say anywhere. I think you can stay outside the country for as long as you want. You just need to make sure during the period your RTD doesn't expire and your permit to stay in the country you are staying is valid.

I agree. Don't cancel your claim. Even it is a civil matter your safety might be at risk if your partner gets out. Wait for the decision on your claim. Canada is one of the best countries when it comes to gender equality and women rights. It would be better for you to stay here in the long run

I think you need to send it to CPC Mississauga NOT CPC Vegreville. They must have included in the letter where to send your application. Unfortunately, the time won't be considered.

Call CBSA office. There might be info on the cessation notice that you got. You can go to the nearest CBSA office and ask for more informatrion as well. You might wanna do it ASAP because your flight is approaching. They don't give the passport tot the aircraft carriers as far as I know.
