    COPR and coronavirus

He didn't say what an essential employee was, I'm a Social Worker, we have letters from our HR department stating "we're allowed on the road, and are considered essential" so I just printed that out in case I was stopped/ asked about it. That's good they said they would process the COPR....and...

    COPR and coronavirus

Yes, I am a Canadian citizen and I asked the CBP if I was a Canadian on a work visa (who is still considered an essential employee) would I be let in? He asked if my visa was still valid. I said yes, and he said there would be no issues getting in. Don't ask for a soft landing. They are...

    COPR and coronavirus

I 100% agree, the land borders are all sorts of confused!!! Like I said, make sure you print proof from the canada.ca website stating that we ARE exempt, and are considered essential travel. Call anyone and everyone you can (preferably at the border you plan on crossing at)- get a name/ badge...

    COPR and coronavirus

Once the guy wanted to listen to me, and I was able to explain what we were there for, he then let us in. I asked the American border before I left too asking if I would be allowed in as I am a Canadian on a visa, and I wasn't sure if they'd let me in, and they stated if it's a valid visa then...

    COPR and coronavirus

We are located in one of the three tri - state areas (NY, CT AND NJ) all of which have had a "travel advisory/ban" due to the high amounts of cases here and we travelled. We didn't hear anything back from IRCC so we didn't want the "you couldn't travel vs. you didn't want to travel" scenario...

    COPR and coronavirus

Yes, once the confusion at the actual border happened, we were told to pull up to the building and remain in the car. It was then the officer came out, asked the 4 or 5 questions, got my husband to sign the paper and we were sent along our marry way.

Wow!!! I am shocked!!! That's amazing luck for you as I have been told numerous times they weren't doing that. That's such great news- congrats!! Now I'm unsure as to how I want to approach it... Do I say I'm just turning around and run the risk of them saying no, or do I just say I'm staying...

    COPR and coronavirus

Hey, Yeah, it's all very unclear. We are going to try, because we have to. And we will be honest with the CBSA agents stating we've tried to contact immigration to prevent us coming here but haven't heard anything. I did call the American border...I am actually a Canadian citizen (My husband...

    COPR and coronavirus

Hey all, called the specific land border to which I will be crossing (in New York) on Friday and spoke with an agent who reported that they are processing COPRs, if you're coming from USA (not from Canada for purpose of activating status). I asked if we cross, and stay for the mandatory 14 day...

    COPR and coronavirus

I am headed there (the US/ Canada) border on Friday, as my husbands COPR expires Sunday, April 12th. We are going to attempt to cross, despite calling multiple times and them stating it isn't essential travel. We've raised webforms and contacted our visa office via e-mail and haven't heard...

Who was the individual in here who has an expired COPR? Who didn't travel? Have you heard anything? Has your case since been re-opened due to expired COPR?

    COPR and coronavirus

You cannot just "assume" the IRCC (without a response) they will accept your reason for not traveling, and then all of a sudden approve you when you say you're ready to travel. Unfortunately it doesn't work like that, as people have been refused/denied an extension. So if people want to assume...

    COPR and coronavirus

I called last week and CBSA said the same thing to me. Although it seems like the IRCC and the CBSA aren't on the same page... IRCC has yet to contact me back about the CBSA stating I would not be allowed in as this is non-essential, not a priority and can be extended.

    COPR and coronavirus

Are telephone landing appointments acceptable for outland applications? This would alleviate a lot of peoples worries if everything was done over the phone (for the moment).
