    Citizenship by descent question

Hi all, I recently obtained my Canadian citizenship and was chatting with my sister-in-law and she mentioned that her paternal grandparents were born in Canada. It made us wonder whether she would be eligible for citizenship by descent. We tried the "Am I a citizen" tool and it didn't give a...

How long does it take to update Nexus after I receive Canadian citizenship?

Ok so I'm a little confused about my experience today. I just obtained Canadian citizenship this month so I went to the enrollment centre today to have my new citizenship status updated. It was an easy enough process and I queried whether I required a new card with my Canadian status on it and...

We received FP requests in the mail on Friday March 9, despite being told it was sent via EMAIL the day before when we called to query the update in ecas. Both went and had fingerprints done on Saturday March 10 through Commissionaires. Here's hoping we receive our test invites soon. Can the...

    October 11th 2017 - Citizenship Applicants under 3/5 rule

Just called and they confirmed it's a FP request. Email was sent yesterday but I haven't received it. I was told they can't take any action to resend it until 5 days have passed though, so I'll be obsessively checking my email for a few days I suppose. Can this be added to the spreadsheet? Thanks

Just got an update on ecas. Is this likely a fingerprint request or dreaded RQ? "We sent you correspondence on March 8, 2018. If you have not yet provided the information or the requested documents, please do so as soon as possible. Please wait until you receive the correspondence before...

Oct applicants no AOR and reapply

We contacted our MP's office but it probably didn't make any difference. After multiple calls to CIC the only extra info that her office was able to get was that there were literally buckets full of October applications and that we should wait a couple more weeks. The processing centre is...

Oct applicants no AOR and reapply

We've been in touch with our MP twice now and it's gotten us nowhere. The first conversation was 2 weeks ago and he was told that we should have our AOR within 2 weeks and to call back if we don't hear from CIC by today. Today he took it to the next level in the ministry channel and was told to...
