    PR Photo - US

Mine and my son's worked based on the Walgreens photos. My wife's was rejected 2 times. The third time, I went to a local professional studio with the dimensions. It was was easier, cheaper and they did all the work. This was accepted. I would highly recommend a local studio after my experience.

Sending passport from USA to Canada

I think the phrasing trips everyone. You need to send the original valid passport for everyone who needs a visa. For people who don't need a visa for Canadian entry, you need to send a photocopy. So, for your child, you only need to send a photocopy. I had the same criteria and am confirming...

Moving to Canada from USA with Approved I140

So, this is saying that even the 1 year extension isn't available now?

Moving to Canada from USA with Approved I140

I don't think what the company attorney told you is accurate. See below "If an employer waits until the priority date is current to file the H1B extension, there is eligibility for only a one-year extension. Depending upon the movement of the cutoff dates, and any other delays or problems that...

Can we keep H1B and B1 both at the same time for entry to USA from Canada ?

Any idea of how long the suggested time you have to be in Canada for before you apply? Any suggestion on the documents?

3 bedroom house available for rent in Scarborough.

Thank you. Your reply was spot on. Thanks for confirming a bunch of things I was observing (didn't want to miss out on some quirks since I'm still an outsider for now).

3 bedroom house available for rent in Scarborough.

Got a bunch of newbie questions for you. Appreciate if you can answer them . Are there other condos in your area for about the same price? What is your square footage? Are there options for lower rent where the pool, billiards and other common amenities can be avoided? Also, do you have laundry...

Soft Landing Windsor Questions - PR

Everything this person said plus the following about banks. You need to carry some cash in CAD to open accounts without fees. I visited Scotiabank and they had a new immigrant type of account but there was a $12/month fee if you didn't have a min balance of 2k. You can park at the City Hall...

Looking for genuine family for rent in spacious 3 bedroom house in Scarborough, in Toronto GTA.

Replying with quote this time. Hi, I'm looking to move in mid June. I might come by earlier to have a look at things. We are a family of 3 moving from the US. Could you PM me or post the address here? I understand you may not be looking to wait until June to rent it. If so, no problem. Thanks...

H1B life vs. Moving to Canada - Experience sharing

Just look at the homicide rate comparison chart. https://globalnews.ca/news/2378037/gun-violence-by-the-numbers-how-america-canada-and-the-world-compare/ But forget statistics and let's compare the number of mass shootings. I agree it can happen elsewhere too but how often do these happen and...

H1B life vs. Moving to Canada - Experience sharing

Having to rely on a job for healthcare insane no matter how you look at it. I agree the gun control argument is statistically insignificant. Until you/your family is involved. I don't agree about lack of school quality. I believe they will be the same if you make that a priority in the US. I'm...

Moving to Canada from USA with Approved I140

Things look good for you in general. Congratulations!!! Now, to the bad news though. On a TN Visa, you cannot pursue your GC since it is not designated as dual-intent. This is from what I know from the forums. I'd be glad to research this further as it affects my potential future case as well.

    PR Photo - US

Just adding further personal experience here - 2 tries from Walgreens and CVS failed for my wife (they worked for me and my baby). So, we finally went to a studio nearby and it worked. They were also surprisingly cheaper than Walgreens/CVS. Just goes to show how perceptions/assumptions lead us...

    PR Photo - US

I went to Walgreens and they made me cut the photos myself. My wife's photo was rejected at the time of issuing the cards. I later realized that the CVS Near me had the right size. So, I am still waiting for my wife's card to be processed. This is in North Georgia

Good to know there being a distinction between blanket and individual. Never been in the former situation.

See the words about approval. I believe even the petition receipt notice with state I-797.
