    Spousal sponsorship

Hey guys, question about Generic Application form. I've searched a couple threads on this and never seem to see consistent answers, but doesn't warrant a thread of it's own. For the nickname/alias question, does that include alias's on forms such as this? As in, would I have to disclose to CIC...

Living abroad, can I still apply for my partner's sponsorship?

Did IRCC specifically ask you for Option C? I'm just looking at the checklist now and it's only listed if you are working in Canada, you need to provide Option C. If you check the box that you are working outside of Canada, it's just the usual proof of intent to return etc.

Spousal Sponsorship Interview Questionaires, Experience, Preparations

Do you mind if I ask why you guys got interviewed? I don't normally see people from the Netherlands get called for a relationship interview, and you've been waiting a ridiculously long time! I'm glad you passed though!

sponsoring wife who is on working holiday visa

Did she have to update her status when she got the visa approved that she was married? From the sounds of your timeline, you guys being married didn't affect the approval at all. Though, what do you mean by she listed you as "de facto?" Sorry for all the questions! If the WHV isn't possible for...

sponsoring wife who is on working holiday visa

Sorry to hijack your thread for a moment, but quick question for you @m6wong: Did your wife get her holiday visa approved AFTER you were already married? My husband and I also got married in mid-2017. We've been gathering documents for a spousal visa, but the idea of him coming on a holiday...

IRCC Announces Change - PCCs and Schedule A now must be submitted up front

Yeah, same for me. I guess for couples who may have lived together, then one moved to Canada ahead of time? That actually is pretty handy, I know if I moved to Canada ahead to get established/had a job offer, I'd like my previous cohabitation to count for something.

IRCC Announces Change - PCCs and Schedule A now must be submitted up front

I managed to take a look at the updated forms. The Additional Family form seems pretty similar, the Checklist is a bit different. There's more detailed explanations of things and terms, and room for you to put N/A if something doesn't apply to you. There's also a new field about filling out a...

    Chat Logs, Relationship History

Also depends on other factors: in the updated checklist if you're living together, the first marriage for both of you, you have a child together, and have been married for two years or more, you don't need to provide additional information. If you're just recently married, but have the other 3...

    Chat Logs, Relationship History

CaroM8: I think it was one of your old threads I came across when I was searching when you said you were not going to include them, I was actually wondering if you included any last minute or not! Haha definitely wasn't on planning on going over the 10 page limit, I can't imagine the poor VO...

    Chat Logs, Relationship History

I also was thinking of relying on Facebook screenshots, because that's where we're most active and it documents pretty thoroughly our relationship history from the first "announcement" of our relationship all the way to present. My thinking was similar to yours: it shows both sets of friends and...

    Chat Logs, Relationship History

Question regarding chat logs and relationship history. Some of you know from previous threads, my husband and I have been living together for a year and been together for nearly four. In our long distance days we talked quite a bit on Skype, Whatsapp and Facebook, and as you can imagine, it's...

Are our Supporting Documents strong enough? Proof of relationship/intent to move to Canada/income

In my opinion, including the letter would still help with your intent to move back. A casual part-time job is better than no job, it shows you have something to go back to and get your foot in the door on the job market again. Any veteran members who disagree can definitely chime in here, but I...

    Proof of intent

I actually just recently replied to a similar thread with some suggestions, so I'll copy and paste here: -Depending on the province you're returning to, you might not have health insurance right away, like Ontario. Get in touch with a private insurance company like Blue Cross or whoever, get a...

Are our Supporting Documents strong enough? Proof of relationship/intent to move to Canada/income

From the breakdown, and from what I've seen combing through this form and looking at cases of people who got approved, you've got a pretty strong application. For the joint expenses, you have a lot of solid evidence. With the joint bank account, do you both regularly contribute money to it? That...

Yeah we both have our flight emails, and my husband has the booking confirmations online from some of our various trips together. I thought scanning the passport pages that showed our stamps from each country wouldn't go remiss either; unfortunately on our last visit to Canada we didn't get any...

You're absolutely right about things not being so cut and dry these days, particularly with bi-cultural couples involved. We inevitably have to do things differently than couples who live in the same country, and that makes trying to make this "perfect little application" difficult. I've seen so...

That's really a helpful list WeegieInOttawa, thank you! We have also been struggling with this, because even though we live together, I originally moved into our current apartment alone, so all utilities and the lease are in my name. I do have monthly transactions from my husband paying his...

    Two weddings- Red Flag?

Thanks again everyone for your helpful replies, it's really appreciated. I had a couple more semi-related questions. I kept my maiden name for a couple reasons: it's a hassle trying to change your name in two countries, particularly here in Germany, and because it was never a huge deal for my...
