You have to apply online. You can't extend work permit on border.

When I applied to extend my visitor record I didn`t mention anything about my other process. I just mentioned that I was applying for extending because I found a job here and already had started the nomination process and to avoid being illegal in Canada I would need the extension, thats all.

Sorry I just saw your message now. I don`t remember the score, I just remember it was enough. And we didn't need to ask for nomination the second time. We just asked for a renovation of the job.
