This is quite late but FYI - I'm a British citizen with PR i.e. visa exempt country and still had a valid ETA. After landing I flew out to Chicago 3 weeks later and was only allowed to board plane back to Canada because I had a valid ETA.

I never got a file transfer and dont really know how it works. When i looked up where UK applications would be processed it says London on the website. It says I have to submit the passport docs etc to the London office!

Tell me about it?!?! I didn't get any email update about a file transfer so I was honestly expecting to open that file transfer email today but just skipped to the finish line! Really not sure how it works and how it's prioritised!
