I'm Jamaican as well. My background check started Nov 2nd and my passport request was around Nov 28th. As long as you haven't lived in another country the process should not take long.

You will be required to take your passport to the interview or submit it before the interview depending on the correspondence that you received.

The background check could take as little as one month, it varies for different countries. Also, you may not receive an email to indicate that the checks have started however you will see the status change on your online account so keep checking.

I'm beyond frustrated now too, I sent mine on the 29th of Nov and they received it Dec 1st. I am yet to hear anything from them, my tracking number isn't activated.

I would not proceed, if the sponsor is ineligible that will most likely result in a refusal.

Same here, I see the info for my Visa and expiration date but I have no idea when my passport will be returned. This wait is becoming unbearable.

I know the wait can be frustrating especially when there isn't any updates, however we are at the finish line and I'm happy for us all.

Yes that's true, Kvo called last Wednesday and said they are at the final stage of my application and I should send my passport via DHL. When I checked ecas it showed : decision made.
