New Policy for International Students - April 12th, 2021

Was this Imm5669e form? My relative has same issue. We uploaded everything correctly but this one form does not open for some reason. Wondering if IRCC will reject the app or request this form later because it really seems like some sort of a glitch that corrupted the form when being uploaded.

    Parents and Grandparents Sponsorship 2018

No, IRCC will not deduct your $2,000 RRSP in determining your income eligibility. I have myself used approx. same amount of RRSP in one of the years and I was approved as a sponsor.

    Parents and Grandparents Sponsorship 2019

I see. My point was more for clarification on regular EI as income. The form 5482 clearly is asking regular EI to be deducted from line 150 of NOA. And it is part of parents sponsorship and is not optional for people not submitting SIN. I ordered my GCMS noes. When checking income from CRA...

    Parents and Grandparents Sponsorship 2019

IMM 5748 is in fact designated for parents sponsorship. It must be filled when you do not provide SIN. Providing SIN, on the other hand, is optional. So IMM 5748 is only optional for people of submit SIN but submitting SIN is optional for everyone.

Sponsoring parents. Use RRSP to replace annual min income.

Sorry, my point regarding showing entire year's income with RRSP was for OP. But there is definitely no question regarding use of RRSP towards LICO as per current rules. Like I said, I know a few people who have done it and one recently got approved as sponsor in April 2019. Good luck to you :)

Sponsoring parents. Use RRSP to replace annual min income.

RRSP is currently counted towards LICO. I know a few people sponsoring parents who had a small RRSP withdrawal counted towards LICO (both NOA and SIN provided). But that was very small amount. I haven't seen anyone that showed entire year's income as RRSP. At the very minimum, I think this will...

    Parents and Grandparents Sponsorship 2018

You can call IRCC call centre at 1(888)242-2100. They can tell you what the decision is. Most likely a positive one :)

    Parents and Grandparents Sponsorship 2018

Agreed. Can also call call centre agent to confirm if sponsorship has been approved. They can see if the decision is positive on their end once ECAS says decision made.

    Parents and Grandparents Sponsorship 2018

Hi, Yes, it did work for me for birth certificate. I literally just explained that it is common to use Singh and kaur as last name instead of actual last names from where I am. That it is matter of preference. And as a proof, I attached my mom and dad’s Govt issued old and new IDs. Old ones...

Tax filing: Soft landing in the past and now came back

Yes, I was mistaken about the last part. Only 3 things have to be reported as income before becoming a tax resident and none of the three incomes apply to OP.

Tax filing: Soft landing in the past and now came back

Hi, Soft landing does not matter much for tax purposes. CRA will establish your residency based on "permanent establishment", which mainly consists of factors such as owning properties, family, bank accounts, and drivers license. You don't have to file taxes in Canada for 2016 and 2017 based on...

    Parents and Grandparents Sponsorship 2018

One thing i have noticed is some applicants get "in process" at the same time for both sponsorship and permanent residency; whereas, some applicants only get "in process" for sponsorship to start with. Any ideas whats the reason?

    Parents and Grandparents Sponsorship 2018

Going to local police station is fine. I have seen PCCs from both passport office and SP's office being accepted without any issue. https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/application/medical-police/police-certificates/how/india.html

    Parents and Grandparents Sponsorship 2018

    1) The other parent has expired. So both don't need to pass medical. They will most likely request a death certificate if you don't submit one upfront. 2) It was the same for me. In addition to passport copies and birth certificate, i sent an explanation letter indicating how generic last name...

    Parents and Grandparents Sponsorship 2018

I agree they may or may not check income for 2018. Even though it is a requirement to maintain the required income till the application is complete, they usually only check till SA based on past cases like you suggested. However, CCB is not a taxable benefit and it is not reported in income...

    ****APRIL 2018***** OUTLAND SPOUSAL SPONSORSHIP

Hi everyone. My application for outland sponsorship was received on April 23, 2018. Received AOR today and was able to link the application to my account. Status says sponsorship in process as of May 29, 2018. Please add me to the tracker. Also, I see 3 in process on ECAS. One for citizenship...

Waiting + 3 months since test/interview to DM. Anyone else?

Glad we are on the same page. It is good that we offer our opinions but let others decide what they want to do and not try and suggest what people "should" do unless asked. Word of advice.. you should be careful in contemplating on someone else's situation unless you are certain. In my case, I...

Waiting + 3 months since test/interview to DM. Anyone else?

In my case too, I confirmed that fingerprints were suppose to be requested way before i ordered ATIP and my interview., which means the officer had already decided on fingerprints in February, So unlike what dpenabill contemplated, ATIP and the interview after test did not result in fingerprints...

Waiting + 3 months since test/interview to DM. Anyone else?

I am not advocating use of ATIP reports or saying it is always useful anything. To be honest, we all are at the point where we have dealt with IRCC for a long time and we have our own opinions which are likely not going to change no matter how many times you repeatedly suggest otherwise. In my...
