Hi all, Just want to update that we received the invitation to landing interview yesterday for January 17, 2020. Does anyone know if immigration will issue a temporary PR card/paper in the meantime while waiting for the actual card to arrive? We made travel plans for a quick trip to the states...

I'm also very frustrated for you guys that are still waiting for the OWP, it's just ridiculous and almost unacceptable. And I do hope everyone gets some sort of response before Christmas nears!

They received our application on June 13, 2019! So it’s been quite some time now! But I believe you guys will get yours soon :)

Omg great news..OWP approved Nov 12, 2019! Just got an email from our immigration consultant. There is hope!!

Same. We received correspondence from CIC requesting further information about my husband’s time in the military. Not sure if that is affecting/ delaying his OWP application, but it shouldn’t be?? Idk...it’s very frustrating at this point.

We’re also still waiting for our OWP approval...let’s keep a positive mind!

Congrats!! Hopefully I’ll get a response soon regarding the OWP since our application time is the same. And you will need a SIN number to accompany your OWP. Go to Service Canada and see if you need a new one or if they will allow you to use your old one.

I ended up calling CIC this morning, they said they would send an email to Edmonton office to “expedite” the work permit application. Not sure if that will help but *crosses finger*. The person also told me if the OWP is still not approved in a month then to give them a call back. :(

Same! Waiting sucks but I’m gonna give them a call tomorrow and see what they say. They’ll probably tell me the same thing!

Interesting...we submitted ours on June 12 and still waiting. Do you think it’s worth it if I call CIC even though you and some others already called and received similar responses?

No for us! My husband and I are still waiting....we submitted our application June 12 and received June 13. :( but I’m still positive that OWP will be approved soon!

Our immigration consultant is dealing with our application so I’m not sure. All I know is it’s still in process.

Don’t worry, there are still a lot of us including myself that hasn’t gotten their OWP approved yet. I guess it really depends on the officer working on the case?? But let’s hope for the best and we’ll most likely get ours soon! Think positive!

If you’re working with a lawyer, I believe they will receive all correspondence including approval of OWP. But I’m sure your lawyer will notify you once he receives a notification.

Yes, a lot of people here did the application themselves. It definitely can be done as long as you are organized and detailed because any missing information on your application will be sent back. As for myself, my husband and I worked with an immigration consultant as we were afraid of missing...
