T1 help: emigrated from Canada in 2020

Luckily, I don't have any assets for tax purposes, property or complicated investments or anything, so that makes it easier. Basically I just had a bank account and nothing else at the time of departure. I've contacted the CRA and for the mailing address I should put my current Dutch address...

T1 help: emigrated from Canada in 2020

Thanks for your reply. I won't need to ask the CRA to declare my residency status as I already know I will be classified as an emigrant for tax purposes, Meaning I will be a tax resident until the day I left and will be a non-resident after as I had a job in the Netherlands then and am...

T1 help: emigrated from Canada in 2020

Hi guys, Last year I've moved back to my home country due to COVID. That means I would have been a non-resident for the second half of the year, but I was a resident in Canada for the first half. According to the CRA site, I should fill out the income package for BC (where I was) and then...

Drivers licence exchange between Canadian provinces

Ah, I would just try with the 2 years experience first and see if he can get a full license. If not, he should get a GDL. If for some reason they are giving him a hard time because the experience is from a non-reciprocity country and are unwilling to even issue him a GDL, he could always come...

Drivers licence exchange between Canadian provinces

I haven't actually dealt with AB yet. Been in Canada 3 weeks now and I only did the BC exchange. I will say though that when you have your copr but not yet the physical card (that'll be mailed 2 months later), ICBC will give you an interim DL valid for 2 months and when you have your pr card...

Drivers licence exchange between Canadian provinces

Thanks for the info. Making a certified copy would be a good idea. Also good to hear it should probably not be an issue. So far the AB license authority has not been much help at all

Drivers licence exchange between Canadian provinces

Hi, I got my information from the same spot, pretty much exactly the bit you quote. It's the 2nd sentence of that quote that has me confused/unsure. The rule I think is meant to state that if you are a beginner and therefore have not had your licence for more than 2 years, you will not be able...

Drivers licence exchange between Canadian provinces

Hello all, I've searched the forum, but couldn't find a post matching my situation. This summer I'll do my landing in BC, but a year later I may move to Alberta. I'm not quite clear on how this should work regarding licence exchanges and the government contact for this couldn't provide me with...

    Not eligible for EE.. Why?

Seniors please correct me if I'm wrong. I think it says this because you may not qualify under any of the programmes. You can check your points for the FSW stream, you need at least 67 here. You may need to go the provincial nomination route or get a masters and/or more work experience

Doing the medical on Thursday, but I basically have everything else ready, just need to scan them in. And for my PCC I need a CIC request letter as it says on the CIC site. My bank letter is a bit dodgy though, they don't provide balance information and the contact details are on the cover...
