2018 Spousal Sponsorship in-land Applications: timeline and updates

Hi, not sure if anyone has replied, but thought I would! I was in the same boat (sponsor, student loans). No, they won't deny you based on your student load debt (thankfully!). I sweated over that one as well and later asked when I was speaking to Immigration Services and they confirmed that it...

Ours was the same - transferred to Vancouver before going to our landing office. It's a file sharing / work share thing, nothing to worry about :) I had called CIC and the lady I spoke to explained that it's just a regular step, doesn't slow things down.

Out of status application. New thread for those feeling lost.

Our initial application was returned because they thought we hadn't included something (we had) - but that put my husband out of status. We resent the application and he received his PR 11 months later (June 2018). :) I have talked to many people who have received their PR while being out of...

Spousal Sponsorship in-land Applications 2017 timeline and updates

The IRCC office in Saskatchewan is in Saskatoon. My husband did his landing there June 28. It's not a number system though so don't worry about going too far in advance of your appointment - they seem to be pretty structured and start appointments on time.

Congratulations! The letter you get at landing can be used to get your SIN. Service Canada told us you can try right away but they may not be able to see you in the system for a few days so she suggested waiting a week after our landing interview.

We’re done! Yesterday my husband received an email for his landing interview torday! They had a cancellation and bumped him up. We were tasked with bringing ID, receipt for PR fees, 2 pictures, and the letter. She asked four questions - criminal charges, any additional spouses, when he had...

Spousal Sponsorship in-land Applications 2017 timeline and updates

I asked that question when I last called the CIC as my husband doesn't have a provincial license or anything like that. She said anything with his name and address will do (bank info, phone bill, etc.) with his passport.

I called immigration yesterday to ask about the wait time for us from DM to landing interview. The wonderful lady I spoke to was able to tell me the date (June 7) our application transferred from Vancouver to Saskatoon office, and said the Saskatoon office shows a 4 week wait from file...

I ordered notes simply because some people felt it was making the application more visible - I don't think it had any influence though (and other than seeing the application had been forwarded to Vancouver for processing, I found them quite useless).

Good morning - happy to finally be able to share progress! We ordered our GMCS notes May 1, received May 30. According to our notes our application had been forwarded to the Vancouver office for processing. Friday received a call from the person reviewing my husband's application - he wanted to...

US Police Clearance: FBI Processing Times

He's an American citizen - it doesn't come as a third party form. The channeller is just a go-between but you get the original certificate from the FBI.

***June/July 2017**INLAND SPOUSAL SPONSORSHIP LIVING IN CANADA

Ours is the exact same situation - uploaded the form and certificates and it still says action required but shows documents are uploaded. Called CIC and they said ours was fine, documents were received.

US Police Clearance: FBI Processing Times

My husband is American (I'm Canadian) - when he had his done earlier this summer, he went to a place which offered electronic fingerprinting and submission to the FBI rather than using the FBI form and doing it himself. We had his results back in 6 days. He found them through Google.

Questions about applying for inland from the US

My husband brought his cats last year from the US. They did ask for the paperwork on them (up to date shots) but weren't overly concerned. More concerned about what he did for a living, permanent residence in the States (because if you are visiting you should have a job/address at home yet), etc.
