    July 2017 Citizenship applicants

@Joeeyes yes, it will be an issue if you don't have it - you need to present (and surrender) it when you check in on the day. Applicant forgets to bring PR card Local office staff will make arrangements with the applicant to return, with the PR card, to another ceremony. Officers will use...

    July 2017 Citizenship applicants

Hey @JJS I received my oath invite in the mail, even though I had opted to receive email updates (and had received all other communication prior to that by email). I got sick of checking ECAS every day and eventually got a letter in the mail, which was a nice surprise, but I couldn't say whether...

    July 2017 Citizenship applicants

@Reta1 Some people have been lucky enough to be given an Oath letter on the same day as their test (after they have passed it and spoken to the officer), but most have to wait until they receive it in the mail much later. Usually if you ask the officer they will give you some indication on...

    July 2017 Citizenship applicants

Hello everyone, I know how agonizing it is to wait but you will feel so good once you get there! And you WILL, as hard as it might be try not to worry when there's literally nothing you can do to make the process speed up. Nothing worth having ever comes easily :) But be assured that your time...

@Joeeyes - I'm sure you'd just rather wear the lost costs associated with your trip to get your oath done, but if you don't mind waiting a bit longer you can always just call them to tell them about the dates that you'll be unavailable and you'll just go into the next batch of oath ceremonies.

Seems like Vancouver is waking up after the holidays! I got my oath invite, too :D I just saw the update through eCAS, but haven't received the email yet. Oath Invite - January 17th, 2018 Oath - February 6th, 2018

The wait is excruciating, especially seeing people from the August group already doing their oaths! There aren't many from Vancouver who have had their oath invitation yet either. I honestly didn't think it would take this long for the invite. Sigh.

    July 2017 Citizenship applicants

I passed my test in Vancouver after you, but before @azom and I haven't got my invite yet either.. I know it's hard not to, but I don't think there's any need to worry until something actually happens to give you reason to. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason and it's pointless to...

    July 2017 Citizenship applicants

@seamyb I had to do the same thing when I had a trip out of the country for two weeks -- I just called them at 1-888-242-2100 (in Canada only) and followed the prompts to speak with an agent. No probs. It's definitely better to let them know if you're going to be out of the country, rather than...

@zeeshee it depends on what option you've selected for communication - by post or email. If you selected email communication, you will receive an email with a PDF attachment that gives you the details on where to go and what time - you have to take this with you to the test. (That's how I...

I just checked my ecas this morning, and the application status has updated to Decision Made! :D Delighted! Have you guys noticed -- the spreadsheet is really not coping with all the extra people using it, I couldn't even open it a few minutes ago and now it's taking FOREVER to load. I'm not...

@Katayoon Does the update to ecas say whether the decision made is a yes or no, though? Or if it updates that just means that yes you've been approved? @prash16 Yup - and did you notice how many applications are in the spreadsheet for October?!

    July 2017 Citizenship applicants

@prash16 No, the officer didn't mention anything at all about next steps.. Did you pick up an information sheet after the test? It says on that if we pass the test we will receive a notification to attend a ceremony. From the looks of things on the spreadsheet, the "decision" is usually made...

    July 2017 Citizenship applicants

Hi everyone, Just wanted to share that I had my test/interview this morning. I found the test honestly really easy, and scored 20/20. It probably took about 5 minutes to complete it, and maybe another few minutes to double check it. I was at the Vancouver office and the test was scheduled for...

I think it's also partly because no one is updating it, things do seem to have started moving a bit, but it's not reflected on the spreadsheet.

    July 2017 Citizenship applicants

Hi everyone, I received an email on October 13th with my invitation to sit the citizenship test on November 8th here in Vancouver. Looks like we'll be there on the same day, @prash16! It felt like Vancouver's office was going really slowly as well so it's a relief to finally have my test...

    July 2017 Citizenship applicants

Hey team, Just in case anyone (like me) has a trip coming up and they are going to be out of the country for a period of time - you can notify the IRCC of your period of unavailability and request that the IRCC office does not schedule an appointment during this timeframe, like for your test or...

    July 2017 Citizenship applicants

Oh right, sorry - I am just wondering because I'm expecting my test invite timeline to be roughly similar to yours and I have a couple of trips scheduled in October and November that I can't change, so I'm hoping it's easy enough to change the test date if I need to (I'm a bit worried about it...

That's great news, you're the first of our group to get the invitation! Are there any instructions on how to change your test date, if you need to??
