Thanks yeah I have seen IRCC making such errors with citizenship applications. Probably best to do what the majority do, and get a Canadian passport holder as a guarantor.

If US, then you do NOT apply at the consulate. You apply to Service Canada by mail. If in any other country you apply at the consulate.

No it is only for US. When applying in any other country you need to apply through the Canadian consulate in that country.

Requiring Canadian citizenship to apply for a job is grounds for urgent processing. You needed Canadian citizenship to be eligible for the TN visa which is in turn needed to get the new job. This is the reason your oath was expedited.

I would advise against anyone to not misrepresent themselves this way with IRCC. Misrepresentation is grounds for revocation of citizenship should it come to light in the future.
