    OHIP approval

Hello. I understand that currently there is no 3-month waiting period for OHIP. But on the ServiceOntario website it states: Does it mean that one has to wait some time after the application to get the actual coverage (not the card, I am aware it takes time for it to arrive)? Should a newcomer...

PR Inland Landing appointments/interviews affected by Covid

I have a question, that might be already answered somewhere on these 53 pages... I am confused by the statement "We cancelled all in-person permanent resident landing appointments until further notice". Does it mean that CoPR holders won't be able to validate/finalize their PR when landing in...

    Insurance options when soft-landing

Hello All. My senior parents are coming (well, hopefully) for soft-landing in Ontario this summer and are planning to stay for about a month. AFAIK they won't be eligible for OHIP, so need some kind of private insurance. Should we buy a private insurance the way people usually do before getting...

    Soft landing during COVID-19 situation

I understand that. COPR is usually valid till the expiry of the medicals. IRCC have posted that if COPR is expiring before one can travel, they will reopen the case and... do what? They will just extend it or will ask to do/redo something (specifically medicals as this is most painful part)

    Soft landing during COVID-19 situation

Does anyone know what happens if the medical results are expired before the COPR holder can enter Canada for landing? Will they be required to redo the medicals?

    Bringing belongings after landing

Hi all My parents got approved for PR and are planning to come for landing for a short time and then leave back to the home country to finish unfinished stuff, which might take a year or more. There is a letter along with CoPR stating they should make a list of all their personal belongings they...

    Housing arrangements for senior newcomers

Hi all. I guess it's more like an opinion soliciting, rather than a question with definitive answer.. but anyway. I am sponsoring my parents and they re about to obtain a PR status. They own a residence in the country of origin and also have some savings. So I am thinking of few options that we...

Medical results are being sent to London UK? Does it make sense?

Already did, than you very much. It is just that much of frustration caused by the doctor's mistake (and they are being paid ridiculously high fees for this "service"!)

Medical results are being sent to London UK? Does it make sense?

Yeah, I am aware of eMedical, but the doctor kept telling, that it is first going to some office in London UK, and from there to the local Visa Office. This is something that I was surprised about. As for the actual issue, it looks like the doctor have failed to send the results when he was...

Medical results are being sent to London UK? Does it make sense?

Hello I am sponsoring my parents and their permanent residence application is in process. They have completed the Medical exams at Panel Physician office in Israel but were told that the results are sent to some central office in London UK. This is really weird to me to hear. The results are...

Can a home abroad be considered as primary residence for taxation purposes?

Thank you. Is it even eeded to file the tax return if they are not living in Canada most of that year? Also is there some kind of paper proving the FMV of the property required when landing?

Can a home abroad be considered as primary residence for taxation purposes?

Hello. My parents are in process of getting PR. They live in an owned apartment in the home country. I understand that once they land after PR is approved, CRA will consider this property as if it was bough on that day wit fair market price (FMV) and if the property is sold they might have to...

    Parents and Grandparents Sponsorship 2018

Looks like you are at better position than me. I have similar dates, I received the SA, but my PR status is still in state (1). I guess you have just missed the SA in your spam folder...

    Parents and Grandparents Sponsorship 2018

Got the same (it is complaining only when opening a saved form, right?). But the form is validating normally, so just ignored it and it worked fine.

    Parents and Grandparents Sponsorship 2018

I don't see a way to upload it on My CIC. As far as I understand you can only upload the requested docs. But none are requested so far..

    Parents and Grandparents Sponsorship 2018

Not sure where IMM0008 is covering it? It only has the previous residence info. On the other hand I have understood the IMM5669 sentence as if I had to provide the travel information only if it were a reason of not being working. Hence never filled it as all that was are short vacations. But I...
