Hi again everyone! I quoted my own post above because I wanted to share an update about it. (If you want to read the whole and very very long post, just click on the up-arrow in the quotation)... SSS has discontinued the auto-debit method of getting our contributions. We had initially wanted to...

My 2 cents: If you are dead set on applying and are willing to take the time to research online about express entry, I say go for it independently. It saved quite a bit for me and my husband. But... If you are the type of person who needs guidance and reassurance every step of the way you...

Wowza! Nag mmist pa rin ang breath kahit naka heater sa car? Thanks for all the tips. I especially loved the fact that you gave us ideas on how to battle cabin fever during the long winter months... then na excite ako sa mga rib fest! Hi @EngrDylan ! Whereabouts in Canada do you plan to...

Hi! The last draw was March 14, 2018 where they issued 3,000 invitations, the lowest points were at 456. Right now, ang style kasi is they decide how many invitations to issue first (eg, 3,000- so the top ranking 3,000 will get an ITA). If marami kayo at the lowest rank (e.g. may 20 people na...

Did you mean pre-arrival services? Those are free classroom sessions or correspondence/online services for you to start preparing for your arrival. I think they are all free. Lapit na yan. Good things to those who wait!

Thanks @arthurmr! We also have overnight layover so this helps a lot. We've gotten an inexpensive hotel booking so at least we don't have to bunk down in the airport and we can go around downtown. I was most worried about when we would get our luggage from the carousel/belt -- before or after...

Hi! You need proof of funds. If I am not mistaken, the primary applicant must show POF on landing. Whether you actually have the funds during your first landing may not be important (according to another group of internationals I am part of, all of those of who landed were not asked to show the...

Hi everyone! I have a question for those that landed via the Vancouver International Airport (YVR) in Richmond, BC: after disembarking from the aircraft, what's next? Immigration/ Landing interview or getting your baggage? Our onward/connecting flight to Edmonton (YEG) isnt until the next...

Hi again, everyone! Sharing again! For those still employed, you might want to look into your company's rewards programs before resigning to move to Canada. I was able to redeem points from one of our employee rewards programs for gift cards that I could use in Canada. Instead of settling for...

true that!!! Here in the Philippines walang fees din like HK. We chose Scotiabank for the convenience and feedback from friends who use them-- services and availability of branches in Edmonton are apparently good. Credit wise, we prefer to build it via our relationship with HSBC but for daily...

Yup there are a few slots apart from the one directly in front of CFO. We got there early and luckily were able to park in front of the CFO building. There are also other establishments and houses alongside which allow you to park for a small fee ng mga bantay. If you are looking for an actual...

Hi @markmark1983 , judging from your handle, I think we're of the same age. Haha We went to LTO mid-February ourselves. Having done this whole immigration process independently (without an immigration consultant or representative/s), we did the leg-work for LTO too. Our schedule for pick up was...

Not sure, but I am FSW and I used "SW1" in the PDOS drop-down choices for the question "What is your visa type/category/classification?" --- I think they will correct it once you are there at the actual registration window in the CFO building before your PDOS. Good luck and congrats @ewa2t !

In line with your query, I have a question too: do caregivers need licensure there? Is it a regulated line of work (most health care related jobs are regulated kasi so I want to clarify)? Thanks!

    Pre-arrival settlement services

    Pre-arrival settlement services

I think they use the data/statistics they gather (e.g. verified UCI, etc of their participants) to request for funding from the government. I gave mine to the pre-settlement services I attended online and on-site.
