I have travelled to China with RTD and didn't have any issue getting in and out of the country.

Hopefully, this is not a late reply but I have travelled to China with AirCanada before with RTD both with and without a PR. Didn't have any issue both times.

If your wife will also be recieving PR then yes she needs to be there with you. I am not too sure about the fee. In regards to your driver license they will not ask for it. In the email you recieve from them they will tell you exactly what you need to bring and the interview will most likely...

Congratulations. I would give it two weeks since the day you have received your DM, that is when most people are getting it and it usually happens on a Tuesday/Thursday. But there are people who have waited longer.

This is the approval in principle (AIP) you should be getting an email after this called Approval Letter which says your application has been completed.
