Hi all just providing an update in my status. As per CIC decision was made and I have received my COPR and passport back from the Embassy. The next time is Landing. Thanks all for your help in understanding this process...it was through this forum I knew what was the next steps in the process...

What Visa office is your application? As you have rec'd pre-arrival info it is very likely that your case would be successful. But your VO appears to be taking its time...as it probably has alot of processing.

It all depends on whether you are inland or outland applicant, and which visa office is processing your case. The timeframe varies based on these factors....as there is no set time.

Usually when your VO provides you with Pre-arrival info it usually means your application is close to completion. Have you gotton your Passport request as yet?

Thanks for the breakdown of the terms. It is quite helpful. I am currently at the PPR stage and my application was paper based so I wasn't familiar with some of the acronyms....but it is good to know!

Hi Kim it is normal practice for your file to be transferred to a VO near your country of birth. As some of the other Caribbean islands would have their file transferred to Trinidad for further processing. Your application appears to be going through quickly as all EE applicants tend to be...

Congrats to you!! Have you inland or have you landed yet? I myself contemplated switching to EE, but then I thought of the additional fees etc and that I was almost there and my application was moving. It definitely wasn't as fast as the EE process...but anyway!! I tell anyone whose looking at...

Hi Rizwan congrats to you!! I am sure you feel a sense of relief and now its prepation stage. My quest is how long from when you got your PPR to when it was stamped and approved? I know you got it Aug 16, but not sure when you would have sent it to them?

Don't think it matters if you change jobs after your application is in process. At least you would have a job...lol. CIC just wants to know if your skills are compatible with the NOC that you would have identifed in your application. Notification of this change is not necessary in my view!

Having lost your job is not a good predicament to be in. CIC tends to want you to validate work experience by obtaining a job letter with duties etc. But if you can prove your NOC skills in another way e.g with previous contract or getting a letter from your former employer outlining your duties...

The next step is most likely medical request. Where is your application being processed as the length of time would be dependent on location.

From the date that your passport request was made...how long did it take for them to reach a decision?

Country is Trinidad, and I filed my application with CIC in Nova Scotia where all applications have to go b4 being dispatched to different embassies/ visa offices.

Congrats!! Does anyone know how long it typically takes to get your passport back from embassy?

Got my passport request today!! Hallelujah...the end is near! Not over until I see that passport back in my hand...lol
