Plz share your Citizenship Test experience

I had that same tough test. Given how many people say the test is easy, I think there is 1 tough one and the rest are okay!

    Vancouver applicants - (C-6 10/11)

Had my ceremony last Tuesday and applied for the passport yesterday. What a journey it's been. Almost 10 years since I first came to Canada! Thank you everyone for the support along the way. This forum has been an invaluable resource. I do feel like one of the lucky October applicants; all...

    Vancouver applicants - (C-6 10/11)

I realised that since I started school, I lost contact with most of my old friends and the new ones I haven't known for 2 years. So I am facing a similar issue and will have to reach out to old friends I haven't seen in a while. :/ Or some former colleagues. A lot of my friends are also...

Green card holder applying for Canadian Citizenship

I also have PR status in another country. But I am living in Canada - and all my tax returns show that I work here - so it didn't seem to be an issue for my application. Yes, I declared it, and included a copy of the card, but was not questioned about it in my interview (even though I...

    October 11th 2017 - Citizenship Applicants under 3/5 rule

I agree! I had been comparing my timeline to yours (despite sending our applications on the same day, I was ~2.5 weeks behind you in processing). But then we both got a FP request at the same time. You sent yours in faster... but then for the rest of the process, I have been 1 week ahead of...

    October 11th 2017 - Citizenship Applicants under 3/5 rule

I arrived 10 mins before the time on my letter and people were ALREADY filing into the test room. The test started 6 minutes after the time printed on my letter. Had I arrived on time, I would have been the last person they let in, had I even been 1 minute late, I don't think I would have...

    Vancouver applicants - (C-6 10/11)

Just a comment on the test - a lot of people are saying that it's super-easy and common sense. Mine had 1 question that was from a tiny piece of text next to a photo. I have asked several born-here Canadians if they knew XXXX, and also others who are also immigrants. Not even 1 person has...

    Vancouver applicants - (C-6 10/11)

We had pretty much the exact same experience but I was out of the building by 9:52! I made it to work not too late! I just checked and I have Decision Made. I actually got tears in my eyes. Guess this is more emotionally meaningful than I realised.

Passed the exam this morning, yay! I was told it will take 3-5 months for an Oath Ceremony. :/ I guess there are a lot of people!

To those who have sat the test

I was surprised at how much information is in "Discover Canada". It took me a long time to read it once and I know I should read it another 2 times before my test next week! :/

Discrepancy between Test Letter Date and ECAS date

There's a discrepancy between my Test Letter Date and the online date. My test letter says: Please appear on: 2018/03/06 (yyyy/mm/dd) Logging into ECAS I see this: We sent you a notice on February 9, 2018 to appear and write the citizenship test on March 9, 2018 March 6th versus March...

    Citizenship Applications after Bill C-6

I will see you there! 9:04?

    Vancouver applicants - (C-6 10/11)

Yup! My time says 9:04 which I think is an odd time. Is your scheduled time also odd? (i.e. Not on the hour.) Is that normal? So excited to finally receive the test invitation!

    Fingerprints

So has anyone had any progress on their application AFTER providing fingerprints? I sent mine in 3 weeks ago and have seen no movement. No test invitation, no status updates, so I'm trying to figure out an average timeline of how much longer I should wait.

    Fingerprints

I just googled. Person with the same name as me broke bail in 2013 and is wanted by police. Well...that explains the fingerprint request! :/

    Fingerprints

I'm from a Commonwealth country and I have no charges or any kind of police history - my application should be standard - but I got a FP request.

    Vancouver applicants - (C-6 10/11)

FP request was through regular mail; ECAS just said that they had sent me a letter (but had no details). AOR was late Nov (about a week before IP).
