You do not need to submit a Police Check from Canada. Many do just as a precaution. CIC will randomly ask applicants to submit a Canadian Criminal Record Check but not everybody is asked. You do not need a vulnerable sector check (that is needed when you want to work with children etc but not...

It was valid when you submitted your application if it was issued after the last time you traveled to that country. If CIC wants a new one they will request it as you provided all necessary docs when you applied.

I would say you do not need to provide a new one as you are travelling after you have submitted your application. I had to go back to the UK last week for my mother in laws funeral. I will not be providing an updated UK police check as the one I submitted when I applied was valid.

Was anyone asked for additional documents? How long after submitting did it change from "We need more documents to continue processing your application. We will send you a message with more details." I uploaded my RCMP requested document on Monday. No change yet.

I don't know why the delay but as soon as you put the application in for bridging visa you are on implied status so your previous status remains until a decision is made on your file.

Personally I wouldn't, as you still do not know how long it will be for PPR at this stage.

Do you have a valid visa for Canada right now? My husband is on a working holiday visa and has a work permit. He left the country to fly to the UK and came back last week with no problems. It only affects your PR application if you are refused re entry.

I am AOR May 12th and I only passed medical yesterday. It's picking up now so it should be soon for you too.

That is also what my background says. It changed twice in a few hours on July 27th. My medicals only passed yesterday July 31st. I think since we had a really long wait for medicals they are trying to speed things up.

It changed from "Your application is in progress. We will send you a message when we start your background check." to "We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information." in a matter of hours. Then I received the additional document request.

I think it only takes a few days. I also got request for RCMP criminal record check. I am going in to my local police station on Wednesday to get fingerprints taken. Hoping to receive report next week.
