    Child Tax Credit

ah ok so I can submit my US tax returns for the past two years. How about when they ask for net income in Canada of the year 2017 (for which we were in canada for 11 days)? We were not employed at the time and had no income.

    Child Tax Credit

Hi, I have a question regarding the child tax credit for 2018 (July 2018-June 2019). I landed in Ontario on December 20th 2017 from the US. We did not file taxes that year as our lawyer said we didn't have to since we were only here for 10 days (and were filing in the US). The child tax...

Exporting/Importing Vehicle - US to Canada ONLY!

I called the detroit border for a similar situation and he said you can bring the car from Canada, and just turn around and export/import and go back to canada. Nothing about car needing to be in the US for 72 hours, just the paperwork needs to be emailed/faxed 72 hours prior. Im still confused...

    Exporting a Vehicle from US

Hey guys, I was confused about part of the exporting a car from US and importing it into Canada process. My situation is that I brought my car into Canada as a visitor before I got my PR. When I landed, I declared it as a goods to follow. I am in the process of importing it into canada now, and...

    US-based applicants, let's connect here

Anyone have any experience bringing a UHaul across the border? We just received our COPR and planning on landing this weekend. We were thinking of entering canada and renting a UHaul from here and then going back to the US with an empty uhaul and coming back to canada with our stuff. That way we...

Landing at peace bridge on weekends

Thanks! I am exporting my cars but I'm listing them as goods to follow so not doing the exporting at the time of landing. Thanks for your reply. That's what I had thought but Canada Border Services on the phone said something different so just wanted to clarify.

Proof of funds from the United States

Hi, I had a bofa account too so I just called them and they were familiar with the type of letter I wanted. I believe they called it a reference letter. Just make sure they add the 6 months average balance. It wasnt a big deal. Arrived in the mail the same week.

    Should I accept Ontario nomination?

I just applied for express entry with 461 points and am expecting an invitation at the next draw. Just received Ontario nomination few days ago and don't really see how it would help with anything? Am I missing something? Do we get anything from it other than 600 points?

    U-Haul to Canada

Ok Thank you. Do you know how much stuff we can take in our car with us, if we decide no U-Haul? We have a SUV that will be empty, can we take "6 months" worth of stuff, that might include baby items like a swing, etc. Is there a tax on that too?

    U-Haul to Canada

What if we are ok with paying the tax? how much is it/how is it calculated? On their website it says: "No duty is payable on goods imported for personal use, if it is marked as "made in Canada, the USA, or Mexico", or if there is no marking or labelling indicating that it was made somewhere...

    U-Haul to Canada

I was wondering if any one knew if we can have a Permanent Resident take our U-Haul across the border for us? My husband and I have applied for PR and just waiting for approval, but thinking of moving couple months early as visitors while we wait for the PR to go through. We will have a small...
