I traveled by air, and no I wasn't asked that question. I'd had a CoPR dated before Mar 19 when I landed, and as per the regulations I am allowed to enter the country. There was a case of a visitor visa holder who was refused entry to Canada in front of me though.

Tuning-in to comment on this bit: depending on where you're staying, you can order your local SIM card online and you'll receive it by mail in a few days (2-4 days from personal experiences). At least Fizz (https://fizz.ca) provides that service; not sure about other mobile network operators.

Glad to hear that! I'm not sure of the owner's near-future plans though :) -- but you can still scout on AirBnB. You can contact any host before placing the reservation, and most of them answer promptly. Best of luck!
