Spousal Sponsorship in-land Applications 2016 timeline and updates

DM on both sides! Dec 2016! We were originally Sponsor- Application Received and Applicant- In Progress, and then suddenly DM for both! No emails yet, but one step closer, which is a huge relief.

Spousal Sponsorship in-land Applications 2016 timeline and updates

Yeah, it's frustrating, but I guess all we can really do is wait unfortunately. Received the notes earlier this week.

Spousal Sponsorship in-land Applications 2016 timeline and updates

Sponsor side is Application Received for us, Applicant side is In Progress. Ordered the GCMS notes about sponsor side and it basically just said they hadn't even started it yet.

    Canada post

If you are using the Priority service, you need to use the courier address. If you are sending by Xpresspost, Registered Mail, or regular letter mail, you use the "Regular" address, which is a PO Box Address. (Source: I work for Canada Post)

Is it advisable to mark documents with short explanation on rear?

Many of the receipts and things I included were small enough that I could put multiple on one page. For those that were bigger, I shrunk a few of them to put multiple, and then for other, more important documents that I felt they may need full-sized documents I simply photocopied them as is (and...

Is it advisable to mark documents with short explanation on rear?

For our application I scanned in (and then printed) multiple, "related" documents onto one piece of paper, and then wrote notes explaining what these items were from on the extra space on the paper. That way the information was available to them about what exactly I was providing them, but there...

How long background check will take?

I'm the sponsor, but yes, medical was done and passed (we submitted it up-front, so it'll probably have to be done again, since it has likely expired by now).

How long background check will take?

Same issue here! December 2nd, 2016, still nothing happening. I'm sure it'll all be fine, it's just the waiting that's getting to me.

Spouse leaving country for Wedding during inland application

It is unfortunately impossible to say whether or not it would be okay for her to leave. Does she have an OWP as well, or is she just here waiting for the approval from the sponsorship? From personal experience, my partner is also a Japanese national (with an OWP) who I am sponsoring inland, and...

Spousal Sponsorship in-land Applications 2016 timeline and updates

We have the same issue for our application. Sponsor side now shows "Application Received", but was "In Progress" for months before. We called the phone number to contact IRCC, and the automated message says that the security check is in progress for applicant side, but that they haven't actually...

    Canada Post Express

The signature can take up to 24 hours to appear on the website. If your item says it was delivered, I would not worry :)

    Spousal Sponsorship

I do not know the answer for your second question unfortunately, but for the first one, as long as you have no dependents (so there are no children involved, you are strictly sponsoring your wife), there is no minimum income requirement. In my case, I just provided a letter from my employer...

    Thoughts...

I sponsored my partner, and we applied December 2nd, 2016, and other than a request for his Canada background check info from the police, there have been zero updates. So I understand the frustration from having to wait so long, but you got an interview at least? So clearly things seem to be...

    2016 applicants still waiting?

Dec 2016 sponsor here! Nothing seems to be happening on our application since sometime in early 2017 when they asked my partner (the applicant) for his Canadian police record. Since then, absolutely nothing on either side. Except for a random change just a few weeks ago under "Sponsor" side...

Spousal Sponsorship in-land Applications 2016 timeline and updates

Seems like we're a day off of each other, we received AOR on the 20th. A few more months yet until June, so hopefully a decision will be made soon and you won't have to file for the extension! Good luck!

Spousal Sponsorship in-land Applications 2016 timeline and updates

Thank you for providing me with peace of mind that it's probably nothing! I feel like our application is pretty straightforward, so I really wasn't worried at all originally, but it's just taking so much time that I can't help but start to have an inkling of nerves pop up-- especially with the...

Spousal Sponsorship in-land Applications 2016 timeline and updates

Hey all! Just a question that hopefully someone can help ease my mind with an answer to! I sponsored my common-law partner at the end of 2016 (Specifically December 2nd, 2016) using the inland application, and since almost the very beginning both the "sponsor" application and the "applicant"...

Sponsoring Japanese wife. Does she need a birth certificate?

For my partner's application, we just sent in the same documents you did, officially translated, and then included a note stating that these documents are the "birth certificates" in Japan. So you should be fine!
