DM on both sides! Dec 2016! We were originally Sponsor- Application Received and Applicant- In Progress, and then suddenly DM for both! No emails yet, but one step closer, which is a huge relief.

The signature can take up to 24 hours to appear on the website. If your item says it was delivered, I would not worry :)

For my partner's application, we just sent in the same documents you did, officially translated, and then included a note stating that these documents are the "birth certificates" in Japan. So you should be fine!
