I have i140 approved so got it approved for 3 more years. And yes I've been working remotely from Canada since last year. My employer didn't have any concerns as I wasn't breaking any h1b rules. Also glad I got it approved without RFE.

Thread for 2019 - 2020 - Dependent Child sponsorship Applications

Hi, When you say medical accepted, did you mean medical passed? Our medical was received by CIC 3 weeks ago but haven't heard anything after that. I see a lot of people here with medical approvals almost immediately after medical results being received by CIC.

I meant CRA itself. I know there are tax implications when being a commuter worker. So my question is what proof do we need to show them to prove that we commuted for work and not worked from home(in Canada on US payroll).

Daily commute (Detroit-Windsor) (H1b and Canada PR)

Those who travel daily, I'm hoping someone can help me here. 1. Are you able to continue to travel daily without Covid test report? What are the questions you get from CBSA and CBP daily? 2. How did you inform CBSA that you are a daily commuter? Is there a system where we can add this information?

Will a spreadsheet be accepted as proof by CIC? Will CBSA have records of Nexus entry exit at border? What other proof can we maintain to support PR and Citizenship applications?

Daily commute (Detroit-Windsor) (H1b and Canada PR)

That's great. How do we maintain records for this? With a nexus card your passport isn't stamped. I read residency questionnaire is a possibility if you travel frequently outside Canada. So is it possible that cross border workers on h1b working in US and traveling to Canada can be questioned on...

So just to be sure. If I Travel to US to work on Monday morning and return on Tuesday evening, I can count both Monday and Tuesday towards my residency as I was inside Canada during some part of the day. Am I right?

Hey Krish, I'm in a similar situation. I consulted an accountant and got some advice on this. So the advice I got is specific to my situation but can share it here as it might be helpful. 1. Taxation in Canada - Whether or not I will be taxed in Canada will depend on my residency status as...
