I am not sure about your case — what I do know is after I sent the oath form with my signature, I got an automatic response/reply email within minutes of sending the form.

I would surmise that as long as you met the requirements, you being abroad right now does not matter. It will only matter when you take the oath —- as you are required to be on Canadian soil. Did you send your application online?

Call the IRCC Call Centre (1-888-242-2100), from within Canada only, Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm local time, except for statutory holidays). You may have to wait long though.

I took my oath by the Queen‘s name just under a month ago. I am glad I was able to do that. (I know it doesn’t really matter who wears the crown— I am just being sentimental I guess).

Try to call them and ask why you havent been scheduled for a re-test. You also need to be physically in Canada when you eventually take the oath. I had a friend who took the just a few steps inside Canada and the officials said as long as he is in Canadian soil, it is fine.

Does it say EST or PST? More than likely, the time is based on the office that sent you the invitation. Mine clearly stated PST (Canada) because I live in the west coast/and the office that sent me the invitation is from BC. Pls check your letter and see if it says PST or EST or something else...

Vancouver. I wrote a letter requesting it, and my employer wrote a supporting document (that I sent before the actual oath) that I needed to travel for work. They acknowledged it during registration (on oath taking day).

In my case, I did not indicate my pr card because it does say in the application “passport, certificate of identity, or refugee travel document.“ I already have my passport so I am assuming that I was correct. All the best.

I picked up mine with no problem whatsoever. During registration, I was asked if I wanted to pick it up or receive it by mail. I sent an email before the oath and repeated the request during registration so they hardly asked why I needed the certificate urgently.
