Hi guys, I wonder if there's anybody here whose parents' PR application was processed outside of Canada but who sent their passports to CPC Ottawa instead, as suggested in the letter, because they are in Canada now? Has there been any issues? How long did it take to get the passport back...

You are absolutely right. First one files with the IRCC and once he gets the SA from them he applies for the CSQ. To apply for the CSQ you need the SA letter.

You should put yes and then give the details in the box below. A few years back they refused a temporary visa to Canada to my mom, so I put yes to answer this question and then provided the explanation. It worked fine.

Yes, it goes to the sponsor. We have mentioned my email address as the representative's and I have just received an email from the visa office which is addressed to the principal applicant.

No need to worry. I had a similar situation since my application was received on June 14 but I did not have news from CIC till the end of August. That is for 2.5 months. I couldn't see the status in ECAS either and was very worried too but in the end it turned to be ok. You can try calling...
