    We (family of 3) applied for our passports using the walk-in "Standard Service" at the Passport Office in Gatineau on Tuesday. Everything went smoothly and we were in and out of there in under 2 hours. Our passports will be mailed out in mid-January. Good luck to everyone here.

    Absolutely! e-certificates will avoid the delays/backlogs/loss/damage that physical documents sometimes go through.

    I'm sure many of us would be more than happy with a digital copy! It'll not only save trees and the environment but also spare applicants the stress of waiting to receive the physical copy, which in turn delays the passport application.

    You're right. I had two ghost updates too after my oath ceremony - one on Dec 8 and another on Dec 13.

    Invitation for ceremony

    Ours was virtual and we had to hold up our ids to the camera on our laptop so the official could confirm our names and identities. But some applicants have been invited to in-person ceremonies in the recent past. Good luck!
