    Ray of Hope 62nd Draw

The pool had to have added 3796 applicants over CRS 423 between last draw and this draw. All those scores were empty after the last draw, but filled to have ITAs given out in this draw.

It's not the 6K above 400. It's the 2369 that we can be sure entered the pool (or increased their score) over 420 between the draw at on 4/19 and the stats on 4/28. If that daily rate were to keep up, the score won't drop much.

No problem. I did all of these. https://www.ielts.org/usa/ielts-in-the-usa/ielts-for-test-takers-in-the-usa/ielts-practice-test I meant asking for a second page from the test people. They only gave out one per question at the center I went to. I recommend asking for the second right away...

Native speaking offers an advantage, but not a guarantee. I prepared carefully. I just didn't want to make anyone think I was able to do it as a second language. When I said quantity, I clearly was thinking differently than some of you. I struggled to get 2 pages. I have no idea how I could...

    Ray of Hope 62nd Draw

It seems to me that it all depends on the rate of pool entrants with scores above 420. From 4/19 to 4/28 it appears to be 263 per day.

I only used the study guide from their website. I did timed practice. And I remember drawing the conclusion that getting to the second page really matters.

I'm a native speaker, and I got 9s in everything. I didn't take it lightly though. I did the practice tests in everything and figured out a strategy to structure my writing and get to the second page. Did you look at the writing test examples?

I've heard that quantity counts a lot in writing. You need to write more than one page. Ask for a separate piece at the start of the test. Do some practice tests where you add more examples to your essay. I got a 9. I told my husband to do this and he ignored me and just did 1 page. He got...

    Ray of Hope 62nd Draw

My personal guess is small falls in the near term. Maybe 2 points every 2 weeks. But I will happily be proven wrong if not as many people with scores over 420 enter the pool. Patience and work to improve my score (unless that mythical time machine gets invented, lol).

    Ray of Hope 62nd Draw

It looks like 2369 people entered the draw above 420 between the last draw and the date of the pool data (9 days). If it keeps up at this rate, CRS drops will be very small.

But I have a feeling that would just move the nail biting to waiting for the CIC to announce when the next draw will be. Since they are the ones doing all the work, it's more appropriate for the CIC to set the schedule based on their own factors than on our convenience. The pool information...

I am puzzled that people want to criticize the CIC in this thread. Scores hit record lows, processing times have speeded up dramatically, and they are giving more information than ever. I am grateful for their efforts, and wish more people here would be.

Any prediction on whether there will be a draw tomorrow, Bill?

Hm, I wonder if it's my background in software test. Everyone made schedules assuming everything would work right the first time. Then they think it's the testers' fault when the tests don't pass. :o I do see your point though. I'm optimistic to the point of knowing I will do what it takes...

Is that picture real or did you photoshop it? It's fantastic.

All this relentless optimism makes me nervous. I much prefer to be realistic. The scores will drop eventually. Patience. Slow and steady wins the race. Then, if anything better happens it is a lovely bonus.

That doesn't take into account at least 2500 new entrants per 2 week draw.

Don't worry about it. You are most likely in at 425 on the next draw. Unless you really have nothing better to do with your time than recreate the profile...
