They will return Canadian passport if your submit in-person application. Nobody can answer second question except BLS. Call them and ask for info. I personally would keep all info aligned across all documents before submitting.

The question is related to if you've visited India while having Canadian citizenship. Answer is No.

I don't think the BLS status changes to Ready for Pickup. If you did not opt for delivery you can go to BLS and pick your OCI up when you see this status

Thanks for sharing the update! Were you tracking status at BLS or Online Indian Visa Form (indianvisaonline.gov.in) ? Did the status on either portal change at all before you got delivery?

Yes. Passport is stamped with visa. I would recommend applying for visitor visa to be safe if you cannot postpone your travel plans

For visitor visa, what do we put in “Have you ever visited India?” If i say yes then it asks for Type of Visa, Visa #, etc. which obviously we won’t have. can somebody opine please? And can i go walk-in to both BLS Brampton locations for visitor visa?

Applied Sep 22 as well. No acknowledgement yet. Have tickets booked for Nov 14 and doesn’t look like i will get OCI on time. Most likely going to apply for visitor visa this week. Best of luck!

My file/package hasn’t been opened yet. They said it is taking around 15-18 business days for that to happen right now. Advised me to go to local passport office and they can issue a “temporary travel document” fir my travel this week
