Guys, anyone of you who have received the Passport Request Letter recently? Could you let me know how long it took for the Embassy to return the Passport. Would the CIC Online Account Status would also change in the meanwhile?

@ASIM ... what visa were you on when you applied from UK? It shouldn't have been the reason if you held a Residence Visa (or even UK Student Permit for that purpose), but could be a serious reason if you had a Tourist Visa. I am sure that the Canadian Embassy in UK accepts Appications from many...

I am not sure about the Time Frame. The average processing time as per CIC website is 3 weeks. However, on contacting the High Commission, I was informed that the service standard time for 'Applications Made Outside Canada' is 2 months.

No update. Almost six weeks now. The VFS seems to have no Updates except stating one line in the Tracking Note, 'Application is being Processed'. How effective is the CIC Webform (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/contacts/web-form.asp) for inquiring the Visa Status?

Hi, I applied for a Canadian Student Visa from VFS, London in April 2017, and haven't heart as of yet. I actually applied for a Ph.D. programme for May Intake. The average processing time then was 2 weeks and now is advertised as 4 weeks. What should be my next course of action?

I have applied in early April and still waiting for the Visa. The processing time as per CIC website is 3 weeks. However, on contacting the Embassy, I was informed that the processing time for Student Visa Applications outside Canada could go up to 2 months.

Anyone of you lately heard from the High Commission of Canada in London about your Student Visa? Should we contact the High Commission of Canada in London seeking Visa Status?

Well, you first need to check if you need Biometrics. UK Visa from Ireland takes 3-5 working days for Urgent Processing (a bit expensive) and 15 working days for normal processing.

@exd ... I am also based in Ireland and went to UK for submitting the Application Package to VFS. I needed Biometrics due to my country of origin and VFS took Biometrics along with the Visa Application.
