    International calling cards - warning

I'd suggest against using calling cards (too many cases of scams and misuse). There are so many major players in the market to get a virtual phone number (with pay-per-use & monthly rates) like Skype, Google Voice etc..

Flight to canada with stopover, covid PCR 72 hours validity coverage starts from first leg or second leg?

Also, just FYI, there is an active COVID-19 test plan at YYZ (introduced last week) - https://www.torontopearson.com/en/healthy-airport/covid-19-testing-at-toronto-pearson#testing If you're a landed PR (guessing you are since you have your BSF forms stamped) - you may be eligible for the...

Flight to canada with stopover, covid PCR 72 hours validity coverage starts from first leg or second leg?

Assuming you're flying AC (only non-stop I know DOH-YYZ): https://www.aircanada.com/ca/en/aco/home/book/travel-news-and-updates/2020/covid-19.html Look for the section on: NEW! Pre-departure COVID-19 Test Requirement for all travellers entering Canada[/CODE] Meaning it should be within 72...

    Grocery stores delivery

We've used Cornershop (great UX) a few dozen times. Great service, no hastles. Regarding the card situation - they do accept Paypal (setup an account on paypal, feed it via your existing (home country) cards, banks (PAD takes 2-3 days)) ++ they do accept debit cards for sure.

My landing experience at Toronto (YYZ)

Hey there, 1. Though I don’t have first hand experience with transferring money beforehand I don’t see any reason why this wouldn’t be safe. Personally, it did not matter so I carried cash and travel cArds and later transferred funds directly (online) from my Indian bank account to my Canadian...

Indian Passport Renewal (BLS Toronto) - Spouse address proof

Hi all, Just to provide an update (and possibly closure) - they did NOT accept any “common” Documents. They wanted proofs in her name and her name only. Though, at PSKs in India they do accept it if all details are updated and match (at least they used to when I last checked). Luckily, we had...

Renew Indian Passport at Indian Consulate Toronto

Hey, I got my passport renewed a couple of months ago. The process for renewals is laid out on BLS’ website. There is no real appointment time/date as such generated at the time of filing the form online (unlike the PSK’s in India). So it’s basically walk-in when you’re free. I guess the form...

My (tech) job hunt story plus some tips.

Hey, Yes, that may be the case, but I was never asked SIN during the interview nor anyone I know has. Infact, if I would've been asked over the phone, skype or mail etc I would've simply declined and move on. The employer may record your SIN at the time of contract signing/on-boarding and that...
