Border landing from US at Lewiston?

Ah - for AVR I believe your current visa status has to be the same as your expired visa - so essentially you'll need the H-1B stamp. I could be mistaken though, always a good idea to check with your attorneys.

Border landing from US at Lewiston?

It actually is - look into Automatic Visa Revalidation (AVR). There are many threads on here that refer to is. The gist of it is that if your H-1B has expired but you have a valid I-797, you visit Canada or Mexico for a period of < 30 days and you're otherwise admissible to the US, then you can...

do they verify POF whole landing ? Do we need to get another letter from my bank?

    1. Yes 2. I had a printout from my bank's website from a couple of days ago, I showed that 3. You need to show that you have unencumbered access to the amounts shown here - you don't need to carry it with you when you land

Hey guys, I'm on an H-1B in the US and I performed a soft landing at Lewiston–Queenston yesterday. Here's my experience... Act1, scene 1: Crossed the border at around 6am and it was virtually deserted. Guy at the booth: "Good morning, what are you here for?" Me: "Morning, here to land" GATB...

Hey guys, We're planning to drive up to the Queenston Lewiston Bridge from Boston, leaving this Friday evening. By our estimates, we should reach there only by 4am on Saturday morning. I'm seeing lots of conflicting reports in the forums, for instance here - and here - where landing at...

Dependent may not be able to land in time - what are my options?

Hey guys, We have our CoPRs and our immigrant visas are scheduled to expire on May 2nd, 2018. I am the principal applicant while my wife is the dependent. My wife is on a student visa in the US (F1) with an extension pending, so her attorneys have advised against her traveling outside the...

Sticky situation - need some advice

Thanks DEEPCUR - our hesitation to travel prior to 29th is because I'm scheduled to join my new employer on the 30th and we wanted some buffer space just in case either of us has any issues during reentry. Her lawyers and her school DSO confirmed that all she needs is a valid I-20 (which is the...

Sticky situation - need some advice

Thanks - I should have mentioned that she has an I-797C confirming the dates of the requested extension. Our worry about traveling right now is that since USCIS has acknowledged receipt of her extension request, she's already in an application-pending status

CoPR, but not landed - am I a 'permanent resident' of Canada?

Based on what I've read, it _is_ possible, but with all the madness that's going on, I don't want to run the risk of running into a CBP guy who isn't aware of AVR etc.

CoPR, but not landed - am I a 'permanent resident' of Canada?

Hey guys, I've gotten my CoPR but I'm yet to do my landing as my H-1B stamp has expired so I won't be able to land until I get a new stamp. I'm filling out the DS-160 for my H-1B extension stamping and I had a question. The DS-160 has a question: "Are you a permanent resident of a...

Which noc a b.com should select?

The NOC is dependent on your job responsibilities, and not your educational qualifications. My suggestion would be to list out your daily responsibilities (and what you anticipate your employer/HR would provide in their letter) and match them up with the appropriate NOC.

    Any malayali here?

There's a Whatsapp group dedicated to Mallus aspiring to move to Canada that's full? I find that highly unlikely. Unless Ajith was referring to the generic EE group which very well may be full.
