    Is it really worth it?

I've been following this thread for a few months. Thanks to ALL the contributors, as many of the thoughts/feelings expressed by everyone here have been going through my mind as well. This obviously isn't an easy topic to discuss, not for someone confronted with having to make the choice(aashay12...

Indian Consulate PCC for OCI holders

I came across this thread today, which seems to highlight a similar issue (albeit from a different country and the individual was a citizen): http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/threads/refusal-police-certifcate-need-help.495324/ @canada_eagle @devse Any update from...

Driver License: Proof Of Experience 2 years USA

An additional question to the above... Does "Your license must be surrendered" imply that the Canadians will take possession of the US driver's license?

    Declining invitation question(s)

I am planning on declining my current ITA, and try to submit my application if I get selected in the next draw. Can I do my medicals after cancelling my ITA? Or do I have to first receive the new ITA before doing medicals? Thanks

Job search in Canada. How difficult is it?

@axolotl I don't mean to pry, but I'm curious as to the type of job you have been looking for and getting interviews and offers for. Is it more of a technical role(software engineering, etc) or more of an analyst/business/management type role? Cheers

Job search in Canada. How difficult is it?

There are several threads on this issue in the 'Settlement Issues' section of this forum. I started a similiar thread a few weeks ago: http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/threads/pipe-dreams-immigrant-stories.487450/ I found this thread which was made earlier...

    When do companies recruit?

Given seasonal extremes, financial year, etc... in Canada, I'm wondering if anyone has any insight as to when(month/season) companies prefer to recruit. Cheers

    Declining invitation question(s)

A follow up question. If I decline the ITA, can I get picked from the pool in the next draw, if my points are above the cutoff? Thanks

Should I settle in Canada? Is it worth it?

I really don't know for sure. But my guess would be that it is near-impossible to migrate later in life... maybe? And i'd speculate that their retirement dollars (savings) would go a lot further in Asia than it would in Canada.

Should I settle in Canada? Is it worth it?

It must be said, that on this(Canadian) and other immigration forum regarding US/Australia/NZ/UK (the English speaking world), the vast majority of questions regarding migration are specifically by people from one country. People vote with their feet, with where they go. And the trend is...

Should I settle in Canada? Is it worth it?

Kinda late to reply to you. But, that's pretty much identical to what everyone I know who migrated to Canada from Dubai ended up doing. And many of them regret moving in the first place. The only reason I can think of (and which they won't admit) is the fact that their kids get to call Canada...

    Pipe dreams? (Immigrant stories)

Cheers! Glad someone posted a positive, encouraging experience for those planning on moving. (However, I must point out that.... that poster is in his/her mid-20s, has family & a 'network' there, and got some Canadian credential/qualification(i think)).

    Pipe dreams? (Immigrant stories)

I think, realistic expectations are the key. Best of luck! Here's another thread from these forums: http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/us-work-experience-useful-t46812.0.html To summarize: "...IT manager job I had for the previous 14 years..." (in the US)... can't...

    Pipe dreams? (Immigrant stories)

Here's another article with some more stats; take from it what you will. canadianimmigrant.ca/community/integration/why-some-immigrants-want-to-leave-canada @karenv I concur, i think the age of the person moving matters a lot. If someone is in their early 20s, "starting over" is not really a...
