    Thanks scylla, it's really appreciated. I'm indeed a PR. So basically a PR can commit an offence but it wouldn't affect one's PR status at all? Do you think it could pose a problem when applying for citizenship and/or PR renewal? Thanks again for any insights.

    The thing that throws me off is that many lawyers' websites mention that "careless driving" can be a reason for inadmissibility. IRCC's own website lists "dangerous driving" as reason for inadmissibility but nowhere I can find what exactly those are and if this "failed due care" falls into that.
