    November 2016 - Citizenship Applicants

Process completed for me, folks! ;D Canadian citizen as of yesterday! The ceremony is quite simple, basically a speech, everybody takes the oath, they distribute the certificates, we sign that we took the certificate, we sing the hymn, then photos with the presiding official for those who...

CIC Montreal Office citizenship timeline after in Process

I don't think there is more than one Montreal office, even if there are different test places. I had my test/interview at the Guy-Favreau in January 16th, and my oath is tomorrow. Try calling them to check if there's something missing.

How to calculate physical presence if i doesnt have the previous records

The thing is not really 4 years, but 1460 days of physical presence. As for guessing, the issue is that while you can't verify, they can, and there's all the chance you would be questioned about it or even have your application returned. Plus, the passports might not show all your entries and...

    Travel frequently before citizenship application

As long as you fill the calculator with everything and meet all criteria for application, your travels shouldn't be a problem. In fact, what you are describing - week-long trips to our southern neighbours - is far from uncommon. My wife traveled quite a few times to the US for work and we didn't...

    Application Form Questions

Don't put anything prior to your PR status in the form, as it is not the "relevant period". As for your passport, it's a judgment call, really. I prefer to have my travel documents in order if I have to go on an unplanned trip. Your citizenship process can last a from few months up to a year...

    November 2016 - Citizenship Applicants

What Canadian travel document is that? Whatever it is, if you need to travel, and are entitled to such document, then go do it, regardless of your citizenship application. It is unlikely your citizenship process will take up to 36 months - from what we can read in the forum, such cases are now...

    November 2016 - Citizenship Applicants

Sorry for being blunt, but I don't think the CIC will see "want to travel" as a valid argument. You can call CIC, of course, they are the only ones who can give you an official response. As I see it, you are responsible for your documents, specially if you had a trip planned. Why can't you renew...

CIC Montreal Office citizenship timeline after in Process

Well, it was the same for me: I had to fill a very simple form - personal data (name, address), and in the reason to FP I just wrote "Requested by CIC for citizenship process". Since there was no specific field where to fill my application number, I didn't. I don't know if the person on who did...

Medical records? It seems you are applying for immigration, right? Specifically, from what I got from your participation in the forum, you are sponsoring your child. You will probably get better answers on the Family Sponsorship section...

    citizenship test difficulty level

The official quiz, on the CIC website - http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/games/how/ - has questions fairly similar to the one on the actual test. The official book and this online quiz are enough. Some other online quizzes are quite good - such as Citizenship Count http://citizenshipcounts.ca, which...

CIC Montreal Office citizenship timeline after in Process

Not sure what you mean, xalam. When you collected the FP, didn't you presented the letter they sent? When I did it, I presented the letter, the person entered it in the system, then collected my FPs, and that was it. It was sent electronically, I never even saw what the document looks like.

    citizenship test difficulty level

Read the book once now - it's short, you can do it in less than an hour - than take some quizzes, so you'll get the idea of what's asked. Once your invite arrives, do it again. Should be enough and won't take much of your time.

    Should I be worried?

eCAS status are a strange game. I've read in the forum about people receiving test invites and even oath invites without seeing change in the online status. If you are certain the info you put on the fields are right - check the spelling of your last names on the letter you received - you could...

    November 2016 - Citizenship Applicants

That's really strange. I'm also from Montreal, did my test about a month ago. Just looked at the test invite, and it says "all the originals" - no bold tough. At the interview, the agent had all the copies I sent with my application, that's why asking for more copies seems strange. Better bring...

    November 2016 - Citizenship Applicants

For the test you should bring the originals of every document you sent a copy of. Read your letter carefully, there's no such difference between offices.

    citizenship test difficulty level

I read the book for the first time a few weeks prior to applying - which, I confess, was unnecessary. I reread it after I got the test invite and did many online quizzes. My wife read for the first time only after the test invite and did a few quizzes - we did some together. Both got 20/20. The...
