Just now my online application got finally approved! Since they have received my passport (October 6) it has been more than 5 weeks. Now will be waiting for the Canada post tracking to get activated.

My passport was delivered on October 6th and no update even on MyCIC since then. Tried calling them just now. The machine said: "Call centres are currently closed. If you wish to speak to an agent call Monday to Friday from 8am to 4pm" . And it is Monday 1.30pm. Will try calling again later.

It doesn't matter where you are applying from. If your country of citizenship needs visa for Canada, you have to send your passport, not a copy

Within Canada, I'm in Toronto, passport sent to Ottawa. No approval even at MyCIC. They say the proceeding time 2-9 weeks on this forum. Well it's been 4.5 for me :)
